Has anyone tried replacing the H11 low-beam bulbs with H9?

(I tried searching but the search feature ignores H9.)

 

Trying to plan ahead in case my Fusion's original H11 halogen bulbs go out soon.

 

After some googling, I found this:

In short, you can modify H9 bulbs to replace H11s.

H9's are 65W and H11's are 55W.

H9's are actually brighter with more lumens and they don't blind other drivers if used inside projector headlight assemblies.

One of my low beams finally went out after almost 11 years.

I ordered H9s and modified them. They work great.

Note that they will not blind on-coming drivers because the original headlights are projector lamps with a sharp cut-off.
