mwr Report post Posted October 30, 2020 (edited) I took delivery of my 2015 FFH six years ago today, on October 30, 2014, one of the first 2015 models. It now has 82K miles with an overall displayed gas mileage of 46.0 mpg. I finally (very recently) had to have a repair, replacing the steering column control module, that cost $800. Other than that, just the normal (and inexpensive) servicing every 10,000 miles. What a great car! Too bad I'll be forced to buy another brand when the time comes to get a new car (because Ford won't make this car for the U.S. market). 2014FordFusionSE Report post Posted October 31, 2020 Nice! Mine will be 7 in Feb and has 51k miles right now. Haven't done anything other than the standard servicing every 10k miles. Replaced the tires and cabin air filter. The fuel flap (or whatever it's called) seems to have a broken hinge but other than that, it's been fine. Need to take it in for another service and the latch recall.
ethermion Report post Posted November 2, 2020 Nice indeed. Got our ‘13 days before Xmas 2012. Tires, cabin air filter, oil when the dash complains. Still good as new. 110k miles on the original brakes???? Crazy!!! love it to bits. Happiness here. Easily the best car this old fart ever bought by far. 1 mwr reacted to this

What was the problem that cause the module to be replaced? My daughter is now driving my '14 Fusion Hybrid and she reported that the turn signals stopped working yesterday along with all of the steering wheel buttons? When I checked it last night the turn signal did not work first time I tried but turned it off and tried it again and then it worked. I initially thought the lever might be going bad. But she said this morning that the steering wheel buttons were still not working and by the time I got to it (a couple of minutes after she started) they were working. This sounds like a steering column control module to me. Anyone else ever experience these symptoms? The 12V battery was replaced in 2017 @ 91K miles with a Ford AGM battery. It's got about double that mileage now and it did sit idle for a couple of months this summer while we waited for my daughter to get her license. But the AGM battery should have handled that better than the stock battery. Still, a battery would be significantly less than a steering column control module. Exactly the same as my symptoms, except that mine stayed "off" instead of being intermittent. I also had one other symptom, which was that the power steering became "harder" (but still driveable). I had forgotten that I still have CANBUS anti-flicker modules installed from some LED headlights I had installed and then removed. The CANBUS modules are still connected and it's possible they might be causing a problem (they are causing a problem with the DRL) so I need to get those out first and then see if the problem returns. If so, I know which direction to take it next. Thanks again.
klatoo Report post Posted December 5, 2020 I have a 13 with over 72K. Tires replaced twice (Memphis potholes), both rear shocks (done by me, leaking), Right sided media control switch on steering wheel (super easy), new 12V battery, and the fan assembly that cools the battery pack (under warranty by Ford). All this and 400 or so recalls for 2013 Fusions, this car has been a rockstar. Now if only the transmission lasts forever.... 1 2014FordFusionSE reacted to this
Sky14FFH Report post Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) Mine's coming up on 7 years and have 72,000 miles on it. Got new tires (should have got the energy savers as fuel economy has dropped noticeably by about 4mpg), did the cabin air filter myself $20, once per year old changes every 10,000 miles ($44), had to replace the glove box gear (easy $2 from junk yard) and did the rear brakes myself with help from the autozone rear brake tool borrow program - $25 using high quality pads from Rockauto. Easiest brake job I ever did. And the dash buzz/rattle complaint too. Except for a couple gremlins that came and went I do have an oil seepage from the timing chain cover but added a couple ounces of AT-205 to the oil to see if that will clear the problem. But I still get 48-49 in summer and 41-42 in winter. Used to get 51-53 in summer. Quote Too bad I'll be forced to buy another brand when the time comes to get a new car Yeah this will probably be my last Ford too unless I am in another country. I don't much like SUVs (13% more likely to be killed in a crash) and if I were to get one I'd probably get a Subaru (crosstrek) or a Honda (rav4 hybrid). Not sure what on Earth Ford is thinking there. Maybe that will change again with the new paradigm (ie. administration). mwr Report post Posted October 30, 2021 Now a seven-year report ? Really the same as last year, except with 90K miles (drove only 8K miles in the pandemic year). No additional repairs. Same great car and still looks great.
