Oil Changes

Recommended Posts

What type of oil do you use when getting oil changes. I have a 2013.

TIA

While under warranty, I have oil changed at dealership where they use Ford’s semi-synthetic oil. When the warranty is up I think I’ll go to full synthetic.

Jiffy lube - moving to Valvoline here. They report that the factory recommends semi-synthetic. That's what we do. 97k miles on our 2013. Only change when the dash says change. Be mindful that half the time, your engine is not on.

My dealer performs the service and changes the oil. They use a synthetic blend (semi synthetic) which is recommended.

Same as the others ... I use dealership so the synth blend as recommended.

I do wish they'd stop using 5K miles on the window sticker, tho. Car is not under heavy use so 10K is fine. And I watch the %-age lefy number.

</end gripe>

They use 5K or even 3K on the window sticker because they want to sell more oil changes. They don't care what Ford recommends.

If the dash doesn't say oil change, I don't oil change.

And, I don't allow the window stickers. You can just say no sticker or you risk bodily harm.
