md13ffhguy Report post Posted January 13, 2019 Whatever it is, IT SUCKS!!! There is no difference between the Hybrid and the Energi except for battery size and the plug in option. I have yet to get anywhere close to sticker MPG either in town or on the highway. Braking at 94%+ no more than 1 mph over speed limit, not running AC or heat. So hard to tell on a forum whether the problem is with the car, the driver, or the conditions. Loan me your car for a week, and I'll give you a better assessment. 1 Timewellspent reacted to this

Cobra348 Report post Posted January 17, 2019 Nice try! ;-)It was a fair effort. But as has been stated by me before: if the car is so dissatisfying, go back to dealer and get one you would like. Seriously. Because if you keep it, you have no reason to gripe except at yourself.

It's the drive, the driver, the climate, number of passengers, among other things... Think of the EPA numbers as an average, not a guaranteed minimum. Or, just disregard all that and keep complaining. 2 ceilidhdog and Texasota reacted to this

devon Report post Posted January 23, 2019 Unfortunately, you don't get your money back because the car doesn't live up to the stated EPA numbers. I got a 2018 fusion hybrid just under 4000 miles, my ave is 39.2, I do alot of really shot 1 mile trips but then usually give it a 100 mile round trip every weekend so that seems to help round out the ave. Even though my car is a SE I lie to people and tell them I have Adaptive cruise control, How you might ask? Well I set my cruise to 55 mph and then truckers and everyone pass me so not only do a get great highway mileage usually 45-48 for the trip but I fell alot less stressed about the rat race of getting wherever 5 minutes quicker than everyone else. Try driving 55 your mileage will be amazing. 1 DeeCee reacted to this

Try driving 55 your mileage will be amazing. Driving 55 on a 70 mph interstate...uh, no!I can handle not getting the posted 41 mpg for highway. What I can't tolerate is getting 35/36 mpg (my 2016 Fusion SE Ecoboost got 32 while driving faster) while doing the following during my daily commute.1. One person in the car with a backpack and coat (trunk is empty)2. No A/C and minimal heat (I use the seat warmer)3. Cruise set at no more than 1 mile over any speed limit (33 miles of open interstate with minimal traffic, 45 mile total commute).4. Stay in the right hand lane except to pass when required.5. Draft semis as much as possible6. Braking score > 95%7. Tried pulse and glide with minimal results (< 1 mpg improvement). I will admit that I do try to stay with traffic when the traffic light turns green, but considering it is so short a distance, that is not a true mileage buster. So, how do you get closer to posted MPGs while driving the car in a reasonable manner?
devon Report post Posted January 24, 2019 Hmm not sure, I had for a short time a 2015 Ecoboost Focus with the 1.0 litre and the 6 speed manual, I had to go 55 in it also to get over 40mpg, 65mph would yield a flat 40-38 and going 75 it would drop to 32. What I didn't like about the car was the lack of tow end torque if you didn't spool the turbo it would really fall flat on its face. But anyways the car didn't get the posted EPA numbers, I think all manufactures seem to lie about the economy of their cars, hopefully you can find a solution.
