Cobra348 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 Seems there is potential for the steering wheel to come loose/off, so Ford has announced a recall. This link has the article and affected models are listed in the last paragraph. Since Hermosillo plant is llisted I think some of us are gonna be getting letters! ethermion Report post Posted March 14, 2018 Yeah, 1.4 million is a big chunk to swallow. Hopefully all they need is some loctite and so can move through quickly. We are a '13 so we are good, for now. My '10 just got a recall for the Takata airbags, so who knows what is coming.
Cobra348 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 My thoughts on this are that they are bringing in ANY units that could possibly be affected. I have a suspicion that they have lot numbers for the parts that could be substandard and will pull them and replace with new ones if needed. If not needed, it'll be a quick stop for us. sschnath Report post Posted March 17, 2018 On my dealer's list now - they had not even been officially informed by Ford yet. Due to the number of parts needed dealers are going to be getting 3-4 per week initially. Job will take no more than 30 mins.
Cobra348 Report post Posted March 18, 2018 Kinda figured that on time to fix. I read another article that stated they basically have to remove the current bolts and put in longer ones with some Loctite or something. I can hit the dealer up for this when I schedule my 30K oil change.
