Vinyl Floor Mats

Recommended Posts

Considering getting some kind of rubber/vinyl floormats for my Fusion, particularly for when it rains or snows, to keep the water and dirt from getting onto the interior floor (or ultimately staining the stock floormats). I've thought about generic floormats (there's even one I can trim to whatever shape I want), but I'm concerned about them fitting well and staying put. I really like the way the stock floormats stay in one place, so I looked into the vinyl ones Ford sells for the Fusion aftermarket. But they're $79 (presumably for the set; the website is unclear). Anyone have these, and are they worth it? Any good alternatives (say, $15-25 at an auto parts store)?

I have the Milan version. Not worth the money. I had to have them replaced (under warranty) because they were falling apart. The ribs are hollow underneath and the rubber is soft, they just ripped away. Replacements are the same design, so I expect them to do the same thing.

I was also considering these oem all weather mats for my new fusion. Does anyone else have an opinion? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I picked them up and so far am happy with them. I think they look better than plain carpet mats that blend in.

Do they have the hole to lock them in place like the carpet ones do?

Yes. I hope you all have better luck then I did & we'll see how long the replacements last that I got.

For what it's worth, I've had great luck with Ford vinyl mats in the past. I had a set in my 2000 Mercury Cougar, and in my 2003 Focus, with absolutely no issues (3 years of wear on each).

On my 2005 Focus I cheaped out and picked up some inexpensive black rubber mats that you trim to fit (from a local parts dealer named Canadian Tire) and I wore through the driver's side mat in less than a year. I finally replaced it with an old Focus vinyl mat I had kicking around for some reason (either from my old Focus, or my mother's).

Oh that reminds me, in fact, when my mother replaced her 2002 Focus with her 2005, we just moved the mats over and she's still using them, so nearly 6 years of use!

My Fusion should arrive sometime in April if all goes well, and I will have new Ford vinyl mats waiting for it when it does!

Cheers,

Scott.

Just talked to my Ford dealer parts guy and my mats are covered under 12/12000 warranty. The drivers mat tore and all the snow melt is going into the carpet. I'm getting a brand new set of mats fro Ford. :happy feet:

Does anyone have pictures of the fusion "embroidered" all weather mats installed in their car? The ford website is really lame and only shows a closeup pic of the word "fusion." I'd like to see them in a car before purchasing them, and every time I go to the dealer, they don't have them. Can't find pics ANYWHERE of these particular mats actually in the car....Any help would be appreciated.

Hi CBasstard. :D The "embroidered" mats are carpeted mats, they are not considered the all-weather mats.

I have the embroidered mats in my MKZ. They are heavier, nicer, and a little larger than the standard carpeted mats that come standard in the car, from the factory.

The all weather mats are not "embroidered", they are vinyl/rubber.

Good luck! :beerchug:

Thanks...I think I used the wrong terminology there, but good to know about the embroidered mats. Found a pic of what I was looking for here:

I'm surprised you guys haven't found the Weathertech Floor Liners. I've got a set in my '07 F150 and they are worth the money. They are a bit pricey but well worth it. Check them out, you won't be sorry. They also offer a nice mat for the trunk floor.

I just installed my Weathertech floor liners in my car.

Just an update. I was purposely not using my All-weather replacement mats because I was afraid that they would come apart just like the original ones. Well I think I had about 6,000 miles on them and they are already falling apart again. I do alot of driving around and getting in and out of the car, but they should last longer than this. I would not recommend them to anyone. Spend the extra $$$ and get the WeatherTech Floorliners. They will last longer and do a better job of protecting the carpet since they cover more. Ford did a poor job on these mats they don't even fit that well. They are too small and don't "mold" over the the hump under the gas pedal, they lay over it and kinda flop there.

I did get the all-weather rubber mats, a $75 option. I didn't realize they would be this thick, I've attached a pic in case someone is debating whether to get them or not.

They're really good. The ones in the photo above fit very well, at least with mine.
