md13ffhguy Report post Posted December 13, 2015 I doubt it. Did the dealer do any updates when this happened? That's what broke it for us. There's a thread on this forum where I wrote about it. Someone else had started it & I added my experience. I believe the title says something about "remote start greyed out". I have not had success now searching for it on my iPhone to give you the link, sorry.Me thinks you're thinking of this: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8221-remote-startclimate-control-issue

I have not had success now searching for it on my iPhone to give you the link, sorry. No service was done, just me doing the SYNC update. I made an appointment to have it checked out tomorrow. If it is the FCIM like yours, I'm guessing they wont have the part in stock and I will need to go back again.
SteveB_TX Report post Posted December 16, 2015 Our FFH has yet to have the update show up on the owner web site. No worries. I used the update I downloaded for the MKZh from the Lincoln owner website and installed it on the Fusion. Works like a charm. Now, if only Ford would get the Ford owner website working so it shows the update available for our FFH, I can upload the version info to the site and be done with it. :)
smr2112 Report post Posted December 16, 2015 There is some issue with data replication on the Latest Sync Version, it'll show up in a day or so,definitely not immediately in my case either. So once you do the update version, check back in a day.... ...and no matter what it shows, it'll say you have the latest version! (Useful, huh !) After I updated to 3.8 I ran a VHR and the updated version showed up on the Sync page. Click on, Full SYNC History to the right.
md13ffhguy Report post Posted December 16, 2015 All of this is a waste of time, IMHO, since the updates contain very little of significance, and are bound to become even less frequent and probably, less significant; if the latter is even possible. md13ffhguy Report post Posted December 16, 2015 In the end, it matters very little what version Ford's website thinks you have. 2 GrySql and gkinla reacted to this
Goody Report post Posted December 16, 2015 I brought my 2013 FFH to the dealer for the update. During the installation the shop's computers shut down, stranding my system update midstream. As a result the system was wiped out and required a total re-installation. An hour became a whole day. Fortunately, the dealership gave me a "courtesy" car for the day. But the update turns out to be no big deal and hardly worth the inconvenience. Now instead of holding my iPhone button to talk to Siri through Sync, I hold the voice button on the steering wheel. I still don't receive text messages on the Sync screen or as a voice message. That function worked for me on only one occasion but I have not been able to activate it again. Anyone have any suggestions?

rfp9235 Report post Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) On your iPhone go to Settings>Bluetooth then click on the "I" next to SYNC and make sure that "Show Notifications" is enabled. At first I thought this was only on older IOS versions (I'm at 9.2) but then I found that you actually have to be connected to the car for this option to show. Thanks for the info! And further, thanks to IraF for the link to the software update. Our 2013 was still at 3.2.2 and the update to 3.8 went perfectly. SteveMcK Report post Posted January 11, 2016 I too got tired of waiting for 3.8 for my 2013 FFE as the Sync site said I was up to date with 3.6.2. I used IraF's download, uploaded the XML and now both my Fusion and the Ford site are happy. Worked perfectly.

Usually patience is a virtue, but waiting any longer in this case would have been foolish! Goody Report post Posted January 11, 2016 Whatever happened to setting an address in the phonebook as a destination in Navigation? At one time I could go to the phonebook and select an address as my Navigation Destination. Since 3.8 that option is gone and I have to go through the whole address entry process in Navigation. What a pain!
JavaOops Report post Posted January 26, 2016 Use a compatible usb that will work with fusion/mkz, download file to computer, not the usb and then unzip to usb drive. One folder and 2 files (Do not unzip the folder.).Have car running and insert usb that will be recognized by vehicle. You will get a message that this will take about 30mins.File 3of 14 seems to take the longest, be PATIENT especially file 3.It will reboot about 2times and do some scheduled maintenance. At the end you will hear success, but do not remove usb device until you click okay.Device removed and take to computer, insert usb into port and search the folder for an xml file which will have your vin numberXR7VCKFT_Vin#.xml and copy to HDD.The confirm page will say select xml and upload and you will get a message that you now have the lastest upgrade You will need to pair phone and car again and you will have add wallpaper again (800x384) Most likely won't do this ever again, unless there is a MAJOR compelling reason to do so. Downloaded the file and unzipped as required. Formatted 2GB USB key with Fat32.As per instructions, remove all other USB devices, start car and inserted the USB key.Went into garage and did some other things while it was 'updating'.Came back after 20 mins to find that it 'had lost conneciton' to the usb drive.Reinserted it and the updated continued for a bit.Frustrated, I burned to another USB key and that seemed to go better. And 1.5 hours after starting, completed.Paired phone again, and shut carr off, went inside. 1. Some inidcaiton that the USB key is being read then the update actually being applied. There is lots of screen space for some pregress words instead of just a line.2. The whole process is cludgy, the web site, has so much new HTTP Code that is bobbles and flips around with each new page loaded.3. Could also use the screen to say what the update fixes or enhances for a better user experience. I am a tester of software and certianly did not test this mess. FordIVTteam Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Thank you, Alain! I suggest deleting your VIN since we don't recommend posting personal information in the public space. I do show that the 3.8 update is available via your dealer. Please make an appointment to have them install it for you. Rebecca

RebeccaOr, he can download the file posted earlier in the thread and do it himself. It has been done by several people here without fail. Of course, the update doesn't really have much (if any) utility, but it may be comforting to some just knowing it's up-to-date. ;) apilon50, I'd only bother with having your dealer do this if you're already there for another reason.
