Issue With Global Open Feature

Recommended Posts

I just got my 2013 Fusion Hybrid yesterday and cannot for the life of me get this thing working. I've combed through tons of threads on different Fusion sites including this one and have watched tons of Youtube vids on the thinking that I may just be doing it wrong. I remote start the car, push unlock once then push and hold unlock and nothing happens. I've read 3 seconds and have read up to 10 seconds but I've held for 30 seconds and nothing happens. The lights flash twice as to signal me that the car recieved the command but the windows dont roll down. I've also read that the windows need to have the auto up and down feature and that a reset may be needed. I have that option on both the front and rear windows and have done the reset command but still nothing.

I then thought it just may be a model problem but I have the Titanium model and if Im not mistaken that feature comes standard in the Titanium. I have checked my remote start settings in the vehicle and I see a temp option, radio options and every option for remote start but I do not see any window options so that leads me to believe that I don't have the Global Open option but like I've stated, I have the Titanium model so it should be standard.

As a side note, I have remote started the car, opened the doors and tried to operate the windows myslef and theres no power to the windows or radio. I've read about the Accessory delay and that that needs to be disbaled in order for the Global Option to work but to my knowledge again, hitting unlock once disables the Accessory delay (which puts me in the car) so the windows SHOULD be operational, which they are not. So, Im all confused and am just not sure if I have the feature, dont have the feature, am doing it wrong etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do the windows roll up and down from inside the car with one touch? The windows should open/close without holding the button.

If not you might need to restore the one touch up/down feature.

Global open will not work after you've remote-started. Also while under remote start, the windows/radio and all that stuff won't work until you push the start button. So yeah, you are doing it wrong. ;)

From page 47 of your owner's guide:

The power windows will be inhibited during
the remote start and the radio will not turn
on automatically.
But I think you can do it backwards, you can global open the windows first, then use the remote start.

Global open then remote will work. I've done it on my FFH. Also, isn't there a setting in the left display settings group that allows global open to work? I'm doing this off the top of my head so could be wrong on that.

Why do you want to open the windows after remote starting? Wouldn't opening the windows defeat the purpose of remote starting to get the HVAC running?

So wait, you can remotely open the windows without the car being started? I was under the impression that the car had to be on in order for the windows to rolled down - remote starting the car THEN rolling the windows down.

But if you can only do it while the car is off, I guess I WAS doing it wrong. And I guess I missed something in those videos.

Thanks fellas!!!

I open my windows, with the fob, before starting. But we also do not have remote start.

Did you get yours to work?
