novicenovice1 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Hello. I have a Hybrid SE with the stock 6-speaker sound system. I've been reading up on a few forum posts about adding new/better speakers to the standard set. I've come across posts not recommending any non-stock speakers with the active noise cancellation system as it would distort the sound. If that's the case, what speakers are installed in the Titanium hybrid and how does that configuration work? Also, how can I get my hands on the factory speakers originally installed in the Titanium? Thanks.
Darkside Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Dude, You have a different head unit then the Titanium. Which is Sony system, it also includes an amp in the trunk. I have replaced all my Sony speakers with Kickers and would be glad to sell you my old ones, but I would feel really bad about it. The impedance of the Sony's are most likely different then you have, the wiring harness I am sure is also not the same. You need to work with what you have. You can replace the speakers with something better than the Sony and you can also add amps. Not sure if you have Active Noise cancelling or not. Do you have mics above driver/passenger heads? Also one in the rear center head liner.
Darkside Report post Posted August 17, 2015 You can also disconnect in the trunk. It's in my amp wiring thread I believe.
novicenovice1 Report post Posted August 20, 2015 Darkside, Yes, I have the ANC installed (speakers above the driver and passenger as well as the rear center). I'm leary about installing any aftermarket speakers because I don't know much about the Ford non-Sony speaker systems and don't trust too many audio installation stores. My ultimate goal is to see if I can introduce a more surround sound experience with additional speakers like the ones found in the Titanium/Sony system. I understand it's somewhat of a longshot due to the ANC.
