  1. I thought (thought) I saw something in a Ford brochure that talked about adding sync, ambient lighting, etc. Sync was like $1500.00 I just looked for it, and cannot find it. It was way back in 2008 when I saw it. It was actually on the ford website under accessories.
  2. I don't think it "pairs" really as my wife picked up my iPod through her speakers in the garage when she was on media stream. I think it's just an open bluetooth on the iPod. the phones are different and that's why they pair them up with a PIN.
  3. Hmmm...Not that I know of. Do you mean in the pairing part? The iPod uses the Media Stream Bluetooth part to connect, and the phone uses the Sync Bluetooth part for the phone. There are 2 separate bluetooth thingamajigs in the car. It doesn't connect through the phone bluetooth settings.
  4. I have had my iPod connected via bluetooth (16gb iPod touch with 3G) and my phone paired up (HTC Hero) at the same time. I think bluetooth uses a different frequency for the phone connections than the media connections. I can see Sync being limited to 1 bluetooth phone connection at a time, otherwise you could have 2 phone calls going at the same time...in theory.
  5. I used floss while my kid kept a heat gun on it...Looked like crap with it gone though...Put it right back on a week later.
  6. Reboot your phones, and go through the pairing process again. If that doesn't work, good luck finding a dealership that knows anything about Sync. All I can think is your phones need rebooted like the other guy said.
  7. Mine got louder a couple of months ago and didn't put 2+2 together and realize it was the same time that I got my Droid...Crazy chick seems to be screaming at me unless I turn her down immediately after saying "play album <insert favorite here>". I'll fix it in the morning.
  8. thanks; I was wondering how to turn her down when switching between albums/tracks, and was too lazy to look it up as I'm not thinking about it except when I'm driving...lol
  9. Yes, it will allow the bluetooth phone and bluetooth ipod connections from the same device, simultaneously. It will pause the ipod for incoming calls just like when you're on bluetooth for a phone, and usb connection with the ipod.
  10. The sidewall height on your Explorer is just a "little bit" taller than the sidewalls on a Fusion...that's why your tire is so much quieter on your Explorer.
  11. Hey, I don't know the model of it as I'm not pulling it out again, but my F150 has RCA jacks in the back of it. Seriously. Some of the forums for the F150 discuss this phenomenon in depth as everyone is always hooking stuff up to it. Some do, and some don't it seems. I don't get the logic behind it. Some need an adapter to use the aux button, and some have straight RCA jacks.
  12. Whatever troll boy... Anybody have a REAL picture of one of these Sharkfin II's? It's wider to accommodate the Sirius antenna, so those of us asking for pics are wondering what it really looks like. Thank you for the pics in advance...
  13. There seems to be quite a few people who have their panties in a bunch around here. I don't get it.
  14. It takes 2 to "bicker" and I couldn't care less about what you think. Good job...It looks great...at a distance. I've seen chicks that look great at a distance, too... But while it "appears" to be a Sharkfin II, I damn sure didn't "bury" that post as you just posted it, while running your mouth. You obviously just decided to run your mouth instead of reading the thread, or you never would have said the THREE posts that actually discuss the antenna were "enlightening" as there is ZERO substance in this thread. All the other posts are asking for a picture of the damn thing, from everybody else. Troll elsewhere.
  15. There's nothing "wrong" with the Michelin's if the car is being driven as designed...(It's a family car)
  16. I still want to see one of these damn things on a Fusion!
  17. View PostBluHvn, on 19 December 2009 - 03:15 PM, said: Here is a pic of the sharkfin prior to install. The overall size is 7" long from point to rear, 3.5" wide at the rear and 2" tall at the rear. 6 months later and no pic still? That was my original post...pay attention to the 19 December 2009 date on his post...that's when he wrote his....then you wrote. "November 27- February 27 does not equal 6 months. I haven't ordered mine for the same reason that BluHvn has not installed his yet...too cold to mount it. " Ummm...He wrote his post on December 19th...Where did you get November 27th from? I know, you took it from another post, thereby making a mistake. Then you tried to deny you made a mistake also, which makes 2 fails. Regardless, where is the picture of this SUPPOSED Sharkfin II? It has been discussed since November and several people said here and on other forums that they ordered theirs, but nobody has mounted one? Like the other guy said; use a hair dryer on it if it's cold. I'm not going to buy one until I see how it looks, and I'm not going to claim I bought one unless I actually buy one.
  18. I like the tinted look, but not the blacked out look.
  19. December 17 to February 27 (when the post I quoted was made) doesn't equal 6 months either. I looked at his join date. oops. However, I wasn't talking to, or referring to you. I made a mistake on the date. SO DID YOU. It's worse when you try to correct someone and screw up yourself...lol
  20. 99% of snow driving is based on the skill of the driver. The other 1% is the vehicle. I've seen fools doing 90 when I'm doing 40, and fools doing 25 when it's safe to do 60. I see trucks and SUV's in the ditches more than cars, and every time, they are RWD vehicles. Those get squirrely quicker and kick the ass end out on takeoff, in corners, and when they get any wheel slip. Traction control is nice when you hit a patch of something unexpected, but it won't stop you from getting in a wreck by any means. If you want a vehicle for the snow, you need to buy a snow-cat. The Fusion doesn't have that much clearance, and was designed for a paved, snow-free surface.
  21. In bluetooth mode, anything that's in an audio format will play regardless of the id tag on the individual file. Sync only recognizes that id3 tagging, or whatever it uses, so that's why you're having problems indexing through the USB connection. At least it recharges though, right? Someday when you get really bored and have a few hours, open up your iTunes and check your songs. I believe that's what is stopping you from indexing.
  22. Your iPod is having a problem. I have 5600+ songs and mine indexes in about 30 seconds after I update the iPod. You've got something that isn't indexed in the artist/album/track format that Sync uses. That's my guess anyhow.
  23. Exactly. I bought a lifetime update for my Garmin, and my truck (factory nav) will NEVER get updated again... Nor will I ever buy a factory nav again until the prices for updates drop drastically. NAVTEQ makes the maps for Garmin, so what gives? http://www8.garmin.com/pressroom/corporate/111607.html
