The question you should ask is "will running out of fuel void my warranty?" Yes it can, at least parts of it. The fuel pump can be damaged and running on EV until the batteries are excessivly low WILL damage them. This should only be done in emergency situations. Trying to get to the bottom of the tank can raise even more issues, sludge, so why even ask. Just fill-up...

So you were on gravel (noisy), the ped was walking backwards and talking to a driver of a moving vehicle (not paying attention). NOT YOUR FAULT. Your right, lets not make this political, but wait, it already was made political when congress stepped in. This is a dearly personal issue for me for reason I will not get into. Education is the one and only answer. A vehicle can be as loud as a Top Fuel Funny Car and people will still step in front of it for many reasons/excuses. Believe me I know, they do it when I'm in my '10 Mustang GT500 and it isn't quiet by no means.

Why put all the blame on the hybrids? There are plenty of V8's out there that are super quiet now days. This is NOT just a hybrid issue! More blame should be put on the pedestrian for reckless walking in parking lots and walking into crosswalks without looking. Parents need to teach their children more safety when around automobiles. On the otherside of the fence, my GT500 has upset a few because it is too loud. BTW, when the ICE is running in my FFH, it makes a lot more noise than most non-hybrid motors. And, what difference will it make when you walk infront of a car doing 5 or more MPH? You won't hear most coming anyway. OPEN YOUR EYES CONGRESS!!! This is idiotic...

Cold weather is definately taking a toll on my milage. The other day it was around 20F, I drove the back roads home about 8 miles. The electronics didn't get warm enough to go EV until about 5 miles and then is cooled off quick so EV mode was sporatic. I was around 41 mpg and have dropped to 38, and counting, in these cold months. However, all reports say the average is around 34 mpg so I count my blessings.

When I was researching my car back in June, I talked to a Ford rep at a special event. What he told me was the EV mode can handle up to 47MPH by itself. The reason for the limit is to prevent damage to the electric motor from over revving. One thing you can try to verify this, and I already did, is to coast down a long hill. When the MPH is at 47+ the ICE will start even though you don't need it. This is the biggest advantage over the competition because they can only do around 25MPH in EV mode.

I don't know how you could mathmatically compute this, there are way to many variables to consider. The EPA testing is accomplished under very stringent guidelines. All I can say is I'm going 600 to 650 miles on a fillup, 15 mile drives, and temps in the 30's. Last summer I was going around 700 miles on a fillup. Now while you contemplate what is right or wrong, I KNOW what I am averaging with a combination of the ICE and EV in a vehicle that is around 3700 lbs. That in itself is impressive...And that is why the FFH is the BEST.

The dealers ought to pay us for advertising for them!!!

Can we close this thread already? I think the debate on the FFH suspension has been covered and answered. The tangent and bashing is really not needed when most of us really want to express pride or disappointment on specific aspects of our FFH's. Thanks

Whats all this got to do with the FFH ride. Maybe, if you compare the other Fusion models with the FFH, it would go along with the thread. Or did I miss something, in that case just call me a butthead.

No special deals on the GT500 either...

One of the manuals actually says to check the phone volume or the online sync site. Somewhere I read it however, not all phone are the same. So, I still question why I/you can't preset the volume to work with a particular phone. BTW, the ringer is quite loud enough.

Everything else has preset volume levels i.e. nav voice, radio. Why not the BT for the phone!!!!
