  1. Oldschool - congratulations on your new car. You've been through quite an ordeal - glad to hear it's finally over and you've got the car you wanted!
  2. Oldschool - Very glad to hear that things are working out to your satisfaction. It's also great that you get to order your car - it will be exactly the way you want it. I apologize if I was in any way insulting in my earlier note. And yes, there are a couple of Ford or ex-Ford guys on this forum. Whether they helped or not recently, I don't know. I do know that someone did get involved a while back. All the best.
  3. There is a process. Follow the process and get your new car. If you have questions, talk to the Ford Rep that you met during the evaulation of your car.
  4. Now what's the problem. The more you post these cryptic messages the more you do come off as a drama queen as previously described.... Are you still working with the dealership/Ford to trade your car?
  5. In case you would like to read (up to 88) independent reviews, go to this link at Edmunds.com: http://www.edmunds.com/ford/fusionhybrid/2010/consumerreview.1...186741703.html Note that out of 88 reviews, I think there are only two that are truly negative. (They both had mechanical trouble and did not update as to whether it was resolved). Overall score is a 9.5. It might be helpful to scroll through those reviews to see what folks like/dislike and whether that will help you with your decision.
  6. I think the largest Ford Escape forum is www.Escape-Central.com. They don't have a dedicated hybrid discussion area, but there are many hybrid owners there that can provide input. BTW, my mother in law has an Escape Hybrid and loves it. They have a FFH on order so will soon be a dual Ford hybrid family.
  7. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/04/i-consu...is-equal-to-to/ I think we can all agree that the FFH is superior to the TCH. Consumer reports says they are equal. Discuss amongst yourselves!
  8. It seems you are right - see attached article: Ford tops in quality survey http://www.detnews.com/article/20090721/AU...+quality+survey
  9. Order Type A means A-plan. This is employee pricing or for direct family members (parents, kids, siblings, etc). It's essentially the same as a retail order, as the customer is known and it is not for dealer stock.
  10. Order Type: 1 - This means it is a retail order (not for dealer stock) Price Level: don't know, sorry Priority: 10 - This is the highest priority an order can have. Dealers give their orders a priority between 10 (highest) and 99 (lowest). You have the highest priority order possible, which is appropriate given that it is a retail order. Therefore, I would say the order looks good and the dealer appears to have entered it correctly.
  11. I think the Fiesta hatchback would be a good option then. I drove a 5 door HB with a gas engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It had plenty of pep for the city - I would have liked a little more power on the highway, but it was adequate. The rear trunk area was plenty big (relative to the size of the vehicle). I wouldn't think you'd need to fold the seats unless you were carrying something bulky or boxes that didn't fit in the cargo area. If it is the normal grocery run, then it should be plenty of room. Fuel economy (mixed city/highway driving) was 7.3l/100km. That translates to 32mpg according to an online conversion site I found. Overall impression was that it was a quality car (especially given its size). Most cars that size feel cheap, this felt very well built (as are all European Fords). I've also driven the European Focus and S-Max - both very nice cars as well.
  12. There are now 41 reviews - makes for good reading... From what I can tell, biggest single improvement requested is the addition of Homelink.

  14. Anything in particular that you'd like feeback on with regards to the Fiesta? In the meantime - here's a good article: http://www.leftlanenews.com/fiesta-noteboo...e-la-garza.html
  15. I drove one of the new Fiestas in Europe - great little car. Good looking, nippy, and a very well designed interior. I think Ford will have a hit on their hands when they start selling it in the US.

  17. I think you may be reading too much into the situation. There's no reason for the dealer not to take your order as the vehicle is on open allocation. Also, the fact that they have not cashed your deposit does not mean they have not placed the order. I'm also unclear what you mean about locking-in X-plan pricing as it will soon expire? Also, you're incorrect about dealers not liking factory orders. Of course they'd rather sell from their existing stock, but they still make plenty of money with a factory order. They receive foor plan (financing support) for each vehicle they purchase from Ford. Therefore, if they sell it as it comes off the truck (like your factory order), then that is money in their pocket. Regardless - call the salesperson that you dealt with personally and ask him/her to confirm that the order has been placed. Explain your concerns politely (for example, why hasn't the deposit been cashed yet). The salesperson should be able to confirm that the order has been placed. If you still want to follow-up, he/she should also be able to provide an order number. If you have the dealer code and order number you should be able to confirm the order by calling Ford customer service. It can take a couple of weeks before you get a VIN though, so that may not be available just yet. Good luck.
  18. Of course - also post on this site! I really was asking the people who had already posted on this site to consider posting their thoughts on Edmunds. Perhaps some have - there are now 30 reviews on Edmunds.
  19. FFH owners - could you please post reviews (if you're willing) on the Edmunds owner review site? Not every prospective customer will make it to this site, but quite a few will read the owner's reviews on the Edmunds site. Right now the reviews are extremely positive - perhaps more so than any other car I've read about! Out of 27 reviews, there is only 1 negative review. Based on what I've read on this forum, most (if not all) of you are extremely positive and willing to share your thoughts/opinions. here is the site to post a review: http://www.edmunds.com/ford/fusionhybrid/2...umerreview.html
