  1. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I need no service at all besides checking fluids and pressures myself. How many people had their Ford dealer do the 5K? Did they try and up-sell oil changes etc...?
  2. Hi, what have others done for a 5K service? From the owners manual: Scheduled Maintenance Guide U.S. AND CANADIAN SCHEDULE 5,000 miles (8,000 km) ❑ Inspect tires for wear and measure tread depth 10,000 miles (16,000 km) ❑ Change engine oil and replace oil filter ❑ Inspect tires for wear and measure tread depth ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Inspect wheel ends for end play and noise From my recent VHR: NOTE: Scheduled Maintenance listed below is based on the factory maintenance guide, not on your vehicle's service history or actual maintenance performed. Maintenance you should perform at: 5,000 miles: Ford Motor Company highly recommends if you have not already done so, you should perform the following Scheduled Maintenance in another 153 miles: (These recommendations are not based on your actual service record.) * Perform multi-point inspection * Rotate and inspect tires; check wheel end play and turning noise From the Dealer And when my wife called the dealer they of course recommended an oil change, full inspection etc... Actually said the oil was due at 3K. :banghead: Love the car but coming from Audi's, Honda's etc... I sure HATE dealing with these scummy Ford dealers.... So, is it a rotation and "multi point" inspection per the VHR or just take a look at the tires myself per the owners manual? I like the later. Thanks
  3. Has anyone else noticed it is really, really loud when the tires kick up debris? Driving on a gravel road is torture. Looking in the well there seems to be a lot of exposed metal without a rubber or plastic liner.
  4. I see certain states, including my home state of Vermont, have a longer warranty on the hybrid parts. Not looking at it now but I believe it was 10/150. Wonder what happens if I move to a different state - is it based on purchase location or present location?
  5. Right, it's a separate fob, which I hate to carry.
  6. I hear the same thing at that speed but no one else who's ridden in the car has mentioned it. I think it is something in the electric motors. I ignore it by cranking up classic vinyl. ;-) Boy does that stereo rock!
  7. this is great but I need to get that remote start button in there too. Ideas?
  8. Nice tips. Personally, You won't find me driving down the road in neutral. I've avoided accidents before by quickly accelerating. To each his own though.
  9. On the sync site I saw a lot of people looking for 2'nd usb ports and finding them on various vehicles in various locations. I did not find anything for the FFH. Anyone know of one?
  10. I have neither. The glove box light is annoying, don't care about the coin holder or the 3 heat positions. Not that it was miss-advertised but I was surprised the gas flap does not lock.
  11. Ordered 4/20, Built 5/25, Picked up 6/12. I was surprised with how quick it went. Car arrived with 0 defects as far as I can see.
  12. I should add I did get X price and I don't begrudge someone getting however much they can up to msrp. When I see a dealer adding onto msrp, including useless paint protection or other scams, I put them on my "will never deal with those ass's" list. But that's just me.
