I had the same issue with my 2013 since new. I ended up buying a custom fit dash cover, light gray in color. It's just as bad if not worse than the black dash but I got over it. At least the dash is protected from the sun.

In Florida and other states I have lived in the tint shop will not put any thing darker than the local law allows. In Colorado it is illegal to tint the front driver side and passenger side windows at all. Not to say you could not find someone to break the law for a few bucks. My friend in FL even had his windshield tinted very dark. Not just a strip, the entire windshield. My Ford dealier has a contractor that they use for tinting. They set up the appointment and the guy came to the house and did a great job. Nick Nickolas Ford picked up the tab. I dont know if the tint every car they sell as a free service but they did mine.

try searching for "spare tire for FFH with 18" tire" by grysqrl. It describes the 17" set up as well. I bought the spare, jack, wrench and foam for $125 at a local salvage yard. If you cant find a wrecked 2014 FFH like I did you can use a 2013 Focus. Same part numbers if I remember correctly.

Mine was $85 on ebay so still way less than Ford's exclusive offer!

Staying right on topic...in the late 60's the Blue Angles had a super Connie painted up in the BA colors and used it to fly crew and support stuff to the air shows. While stationed at Roosey Roads I remember that the BA Connie came in and the load master began unloading. He made 2 errors that cost him his career. 1.He unloaded the plane from the front. 2.He forgot to put the tripod in place at the rear. Connie rocked back on her tail and damaged it as well as load master's ego. What a beautiful bird she was.

When we lived up on Signal Hill there was always a wind blowing and I considered a wind generator and battery set up to run my pump. So freekin cold we moved back to FL after 2 winters.

My service advisor told me yesterday they couldn't, shouldn't, wouldn't enable mine because they drain the battery quicker and therefore cause the engine to run more often reducing mpg. I just laughed and laughed and laughed...

Took 3 phone calls but finally found a spare and kit from a 14 Fusion in Tampa for $125. Will pick it up today. Picked it up and tried it out. Of course the tire is a bit smaller than the road tire but hopefully it wont be used. Peace of mind for the wife.

Yesterday I found a brand new spare and kit from a 14 Fusion at the salvage yard. $125.00 Some say they have found cheaper but $125 ain't bad. Picking it up today in Tampa.

Fastronaut, would the Focus spare work on either of your Fusions? I found a new 2013 Focus spare and kit for $175 locally. My Fusion is a 13 Hybrid SE.

How do you have the day time running lights enabled? Where did you get your donut tire?

I typically use cancel even when approaching a stop light or sign because it takes a bit too much brake pedal pressure to disengage (or I'm still not used to it after 20,000 miles). Seems I just have to think about breaking in my chevy for the cc to disengage.

Sounds like a great reason to have ACC. My '13 does not but still has a life time average of 45.6.

My 2013 with 20,000 miles has a lifetime avg of 45.6
