I'm pretty sure I stated what you ask in the Sony wiring thread. -

I believe I grounded directly to my second battery. If you are not using a second battery then try to use the body as your ground.
-
I added the second battery for the fact the 12v battery is pretty small. I have not replaced my original battery yet and it is a 2014. I suspect soon, but zero problems with my setup. After all this time I still love the sound in my car.

And I have added 1000 watts to my 2014. I added a second battery that is charged from the 12v. I have the Sony head. Look for my writing on it. It's in this section.

Upgrading the sound system in my newish 2015FFH
Darkside replied to Bobo's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
You may go through 12v batteries quicker. The 12v Batteries in these is very small and designed to only run a few 12v accessories. I added a second battery just for my amps. I am drawing 1000watts so it was required for mine. -
2013 Fusion Hybrid Audio Upgrade
Darkside replied to wikkid1976's topic in Accessories & Modifications
You could also read my Sony wiring thread. Nobody on this forum has modified their sound system more than I have. I will also argue the value of ANC, mines disconnected and engine noise is marginally different, but I also no longer get cut outs where I had some bass then none. ANC. Ford also uses a similar feature on their Ford F150's, because the twin turbo's cut most of the engine roar, Ford has add that sound back through the audio system. So if you want to impress you have to roll your windows down and turn up the sound system to hear what an engine should sound like. lmao -
Most likely being caused by the famous ANC. Try pulling that fuse and leaving it out.

They found it while in for recall and oil change. BTW they put reg oil in instead of synthetic as I had requested, they didn't put any kind of sticker on the window for when to get it changed again and they didn't reset my oil life gauge. They did mess with my radio that I had turned off when I brought it in and managed to make my new smelling car smell like an oil pit....

Active Noise Cancellation improves audio?
Darkside replied to CCalvinN's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I did not lose my voice command ability when I removed my ANC unit. There is a fuse you can pull I believe to also disable it. Look through my threads and you can see what I did. -
I just experienced the lack of power situation. Next time it happens or I believe it will happen I shall try the L drive. I pulled out from a left turn going up a grade on snow and ice pack. The vehicle had only gone maybe 1/2 mile when this happened (morning commute) and I thought something major had gone wrong. Here I am expecting to be sliding slightly because I had the gas pedal half way to the floor and it wasn't gaining any speed. Then I noticed the "slip" light blinking and realized the car just down powered the vehicle to prevent wheel spin. Still an odd feeling.

I've noticed an oddity. Seems like it only has happened since I started using a new larger usb stick. Sometimes when I start the car it starts playing a different song than was playing. Then maybe the second or third time I start the car it plays the song it had been on two or three starts earlier. Sometimes it just skips the usb that was playing and switches to the radio. Only when I start the vehicle. Odd Anyone else have Playlist or random radio issues?
