In IL you get a new license send by mail before the old one expires but only if you have been good driver the previous 5 years. (like my wife)

 

Otherwise it's a trip to the DMV vision test, new picture and $10 and you walk out with a new card in your hand. I believe if you have glasses on your license you always have to go to for the vision test. (like me)

I'm really not sure why you are making such an awful big deal about the taillights.

 

We really like to welcome new members and listen to the good and bad things about owning a FFH but personally I think your entrance has some people's eyes rolling.

 

Yes there difference are they strange and to a certain extent unexplainable yes but as for the TI taillights there is a reason why even as replacements are quite a bit more expensive than the SE version.

 

If that's you only complaint I would say Ford build an outstanding car.

I have a 2013 so it has been a while since I looked at this but my recollection is that only the Titanium package has them lit. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Isn't there a window popping up on the left dash screen with an option to turn "reverse aid" (or something to that effect) off when you put in reverse?

Did you check if all the doors were closed correctly?

 

We have a problem with our Explorer that the driver side door closed switch doesn't work properly anymore. So what happens is that after some time the alarm starts going off because the car thinks the driver side door is open.

 

A faulty door switch could be an issue too.

That's sounds like a lot of fun.

 

Just a fun side note:

 

You went slightly faster than me two weeks ago on the Autobahn in an Audi A1. It only made it to 136 MPH ;)

That definitely blows about you are having to pay for the testing extra in addition to registration. I mean in IL we $110 or so for registration but testing is "free".

Do you have to pay for it or is it part of vehicle registration?

 

The Bi-Annual thing is kinda odd maybe the vehicle emission test stations are running out of cars to test. ;)

I was just in time to catch the pit crew pouring in the oil and I reminded them that no matter what they see on the dipstick DO NOT put in more than 4.5 quarts of oil, of course they told me they don't have a way to measure it - just like last time. I had them hand me the 5-qt jug of oil and looked at how much they'd used and told'em that was enough, I can always add some later but too much is too much, they agreed.

 

What a lame excuse!

 

I would have showed them the scale on the side of the jug and said "measurement is built in" :)

It sure is capable but there are a few things you can try.

 

If you have email addresses linked to your message service MFT can't resolve that. Make sure you only have your phone number in the settings messages.

 

Secondly did you reenable the text to speech option after paring your new phone?

 

This has been discussed but I can't find the specific thread either.

Mine is a 2013 Job2 and has also been for the most part trouble free. I just rolled over 40k with a current pump average of 41.2 MPG. The more city driving you will do the higher your MPG will be.

 

Average for interstate driving for me might be around 40 MPG but those are long mileage trips which are hard erase from the MPG average during daily commutes.

 

Also look at option you might like that are only available in a MY 2014 and up.

I put new, different spark plugs and the K&N air filter in at the same time, plus different tires than the last trip to this destination.

This super hot desert/high elevation mountain trip two years ago was with 2 people, we had 3 people this time so a lot more weight in the car. Last trip I got about 37.5 mpg, this trip we got 40.9 mpg with A/C on 95%.

 

The car drove great and was quieter, this is an early build 2013 Job 1 FFH with 18" wheels/tires. You have a 2015 FFE with all the new improvements so I don't know if this air filter would be worth the effort.

Sounds like some decent MPG improvement to me! Sure you can't say which individual change/upgrade is responsible for the the biggest improvement but the sum definitely seems to work well.

Today I came across a very smart Acura driver on my drive home. Keep an eye on "center" lane.

After that stunt he changed lanes a few more times until he turned into a neighborhood 1/2 mile down the road 4-5 cars ahead of me.

While installing stuff in the car I accidentally pushed the buttons to move the seat before so maybe there is something pressing against it?

My brother is a gearhead and still registers over 404 MPG lifetime in '12 FFH daily driver at 33K miles.

That's pretty impressive but for sure your brother must have highly modified his FFH in order to reach 404 MPG.

My car was hacked at a campground. All the doors were unlocked and the windows were down. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. Nothing was taken so I'm sure someone was just playing with it.

You probably "hacked" it yourself!

 

Hitting the unlock button and than holding it down will open all window and obviously unlock the car.

 

Has happened to me and others before.

Mine is 1 mph high according to my Garmin gps. Speedometer accuracy changes as the tires wear down.

That's probably the reason why they need to start "high"

I like the idea but in a first step (equally effective) would be for drivers to open their eyes and look down the road.

 

If the traffic light ahead is red it's red and there is no need for keep speeding with 10 MPH over speed limit towards it.

I have numerous videos of drivers doing that getting nowhere. (Except getting passed by me rolling by)

 

If anything would help it would be automatically limiting/regulating the speed of each car.

 

But that's just my opinion knowing it would work and ease the pain for any commute.

I wouldn't ever wait that long. A tire must be seriously under inflated before the TPMS alert sounds.

I agree with that when my alert sounded my tire pressure was down to around 20 psi.

You have to pronounce any foreign words like the letters would go in English. If I want MFT to call someone from my contacts with a Hispanic name I have to say the name with an English accent. The funniest is when I get texts in Spanish & have MFT read them. Sometimes I can figure out what the text says, sometimes I can't, but it always makes me laugh hearing MFT fail at reading Spanish lol

I would guess it sounds equally funny as German or any foreign language but at least she tries.
