What are my options for "Battery Saver message" problem. Have had two batteries replaced already in three years of ownership. Latest visit to dealership, service associate says battery checks good, they said they ran intensive test on battery. They told me to do not use my usb port with thumb drive for music and see how it does, This does not work still getting message every time I shut off vehicle. The last time battery was replaced solved problem for about 14 months each time. Must be something in the charging system software or possibly poor battery choice for this vehicle. ANYONE have this problem solved??? Ford seems to have no fix for this. I'm up to date on all TSB's on vehicle. At a loss on this. Car runs great and great mpg, but this issue is annoying and needs a fix...

Installed the updated Air Intake w/Resonator two weeks, seems to reduce almost eliminate that deep growl sound from engine when you start to accelerate with the ICE. good mod, makes for more pleasant ride....

My numbers from dash display holding up with Fuelly numbers, I guess time will till if PCM update and 12v battery reset is working for better efficiency of using EV and ICE.....
-
Could my numbers have something to do with PCM update and changing out 12v battery at same time which caused some electrical systems to RESET....
-
On board display is where I got numbers....

Had PCM Software upgrade 14E02 done in late January 2015, noticed an increase in the efficiency of way the EV mode was being utilized which gave an increase in MPG. However this last weekend in taking a trip to Austin and back from Dallas(480 miles), it is now very apparent the software upgrade has given an increase of at least 8%, the round trip MPG was about 47.1 Previously, on a road trip averaging 73 MPH, I was lucky to get about 43.5 MPG. Very pleased, Just a note when the 14E02 upgrade was done, Ford Service also changed out my 12V battery, which apparently reset my EV+ points and maybe other parameters which could have contributed to the increased efficiency how the EV mode is being utilized....Battery was changed out because of the "battery saver mode" issue which I was having...

Thanks for reply, but I will pass on hooking up charger to battery, Have problem when a fairly new car cannot maintain strength in battery to operate properly, Vehicle is driven enough in order to charge battery adequately. Ford Service battery tests indicated a bad battery not a low battery,

Ford service did replace my old BXT 99R390 12v battery(installed in Feb 2014, failed in January 2015) with a BXT99RT4 12v battery, I check my service copies.. I guess I will till in about 11 months if the new part solves the "Battery Saver Message" issue which I've had.....
-
I will have to check to see what is part number of battery Ford service installed today,, maybe the part BXT99RT4 more durable battery than the original...

I thought I had my "battery saver message" was solved last February with new 12v battery replacement. Well I thought wrong!!!!. Message started reappearing about 2 weeks ago.. took 2013 FFH for routine Ford service and asked service rep to have battery checked... They checked it proved bad, had it replaced no cost. but is sure a pain to have battery replaced yearly, must be some issue in charging system rather than a bad batch of batteries at factory when Dec 2012 vehicles were built...................by the way I had the 'battery saver message" TSB done also prior to having battery replaced last year....

Found this today http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/dg9z9c675c?search_str=DG9Z-9C675-C for $28.31 plus shipping, does it really help noise issue?????

Battery Saver Message, Solved, My Experience
rvlasek replied to rvlasek's topic in Batteries & Charging
TSB update on battery charging module and one new battery change out...seems to have solved problem for me..... -
Purchased my 2013 FFH, February 2013, within 4 months starting get Battery Saver Message about 100% of the time, brought in to Ford Service, they charged battery, however I requested battery change out after reading forum posts concerning bad batch of 12v batteries in vehicles produced in December 2012 which was my FFH build month. Within 3 months started getting message again, brought back in for service, they performed TSB 13 - 7 - 11 Reprogrammed module and charged battery. Again after about 90 days started getting message again, then I contacted Ashley who monitors this forum, Ford Customer Service Rep contacted and I made arrangements to bring vehicle back in to Ford Service with Battery issue and they noted the case number the Ford Customer Service Rep gave me, Ford Customer service stated that if the battery checked low, Ford Service will replace 12V battery, it checked low I got a new battery. That was in early February 2014. THE ONLY TIME I HAVE GOTTEN THE BATTERY SAVER MESSAGE WAS AFTER THE VEHICLE SET for 8 days while on vacation, Seems to work fine now with new battery. Been almost 5 months.... Most of my driving are short commutes 4-10 miles,

Thought I had it licked with new Battery change out on February 27, 2014 by Ford Service after contacting Ford customer Service, " Battery Saver" message returned again this week, pretty much every time turn off ignition............

I do notice a rattle/vibration coming from passenger side door panel 2013 FFH. anyone have similar issue, my build was December 2012, How long do we have have to have ford service check issue, since there is a TSB about problem...

My battery was replaced on February 28th,2014, see above, NO "battery saver" message so far, still testing, saw a post earlier where another owner had his replaced and message showed up 3 mos. after replacement. just wondering, If anyone with 2014 FFH has seen battery saver message......

Last year with 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid owners who had the cracking noise from front end, myself included, TSB 13-5-24 was issued by Ford to finally solved cracking noise problem at no charge, which is a very significant costly procedure., Seems that washers/spacers was not installed correctly or left off early production FFH. Later production 2013 FFH were supposedly had these spacers installed. Similarly the Air Intake w/Resonator were installed on late productions 2013 FFH, and not on earlier production vehicles. Seems that Ford has acknowledged that the resonator addition does reduce engine noise issue when ICE kicks in. Seems that these issues has some close similarities.
-
Would new modified intake with resonator become a OEM produced item since it seems the late 2013 and 2014 have it from factory, I have seen the old intake piece on Ebay for $26 including shipping, maybe by end of year it will be available for half the dealer wants now.....

Received call from Ford Customer Service Rep about my "Battery Saver" message issue which I have had since car was new 12 months ago. I reported this to Ashley, Ford Customer Service agent who monitors this forum. I had requested battery change out the 3 previous times I brought in for battery saver issue. Ford Service either charged battery or performed one of the TSB updates on charging system. This time I was told by Ford customer service they would replace battery if it checks low. So brought in vehicle last week, battery checked LOW. They replaced battery this time at no charge. I'm sure this was done with backing of Ford customer service. NO Battery saver messages, but need to test for at least a month. I do drive a lot of short trips, 3-8 miles. But I would get message even shortly after driving long trip say Dallas to Houston and back, about 440 miles round trip. Side note, by Ford service disconnecting old battery, EV is relearning home and work locations, I seem to getting better mileage, but could be due to current warm trend here in Dallas.. Maybe the hard reset of disconnecting and reconnecting battery power does work, causing vehicle to go in re learn mode. Anyways, so far so good, Thanks Ashley for your help......................

Anyone been using battery tender to solve this "system off to save battery" issue, I"ve had this problem for a year, after two updates which were supposed to solve problem,,,, if you using a battery tender with long term success please advise of type and model number, looks like I need to add one and just leave attached to battery.......

Had the Fuel delivery module replacement done in September 13, was getting about 46.3 mpg, I do a lot of city driving, and take advantage of EV, now after replacement of Fuel Module getting on average about 43 mpg and heading down, wonder if fix was done correctly,, have leak now or defective module as installed.......my driving habits have not changed and had the mpg PCM done earlier in year and saw significant increase in mpg...

Recall Notice FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACEMENT
rvlasek replied to Da0ne's topic in Recalls, SSMs & TSBs
Anyone notice a drop in overall MPG after replacement of the Fuel Delivery module???? I had this done in September, and have seen drop of about 25% in mileage, just wondering if the work done by tech was poor or module was defective that they installed......
