  1. I have a 2013 Fusion and I have only had one item go wrong which was part of a recall (Door Latch). I only have just over 70K miles and I bought the vehicle new. So I am probably not much help as mine has been rock solid from day one.
  2. I would check with your auto insurance company. I know we pay around $4 or $5 dollars for 6 months to have it on our policy. We are currently using GEICO, but I am sure they are all about the same.
  3. Coming up on 5 years on my 2013. 65K miles. I assume the first indication I will get will be when I desperately need to go somewhere and the car will be dead. I am thinking about replacing anyways as 5 years appears to be a pretty good like on an OEM battery.
  4. This thread on another forum details what it takes to get you park assist working after the upgrade to sync 3. I suspect 4dtech doesn't provide this because the Park Assist Module (PAM) is not part of the parts they sell you. it is a long thread and includes a lot of information. Might be of interest. http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=6712&pid=99434#pid99434
  5. Aquidneck, I was interested in the 4dtech conversion, but they state I will lose my park assist functionality. I found your link in the 3rd post above very interesting as they have a link off of that for how to program to get Park Assist and other Park Assist features. I wonder why 4dtech has not incorporated that capability in what they are selling. I think someone on this forum has done the conversion, at least I remember them posting about it.
  6. My 2013 is the same way, Sprays low, but has been this way from day one. I should have taken it in when I first got it but did not. I don't see anyway to adjust it either. The wipers do tend to spread it up a bit but i would rather it spray up to the halfway point.
  7. Well, I encountered a hail storm back in July in Texas. In addition to some surface dings, the third brake light was damaged. The plastic top at the corner is cracked with a quarter size piece gone. I am wondering what the procedure is to replace the part myself. Looking at it I think that the headliner has to come down, am I correct? Does anybody have the service manual and can give me a brief outline of the steps? Appreciate any help. Tom Clemmer
  8. Our local news station (Dallas/Fort Worth) ran this piece about the different types of glass being used in side windows. It appears that laminated glass is being used more and more as an added safety feature. The video shows how hard it is to break a laminated glass window. http://www.nbcdfw.com/investigations/Type-of-Glass-in-Your-Cars-Windows-Could-Change-Escape-Plan-206353031.html
  9. After 18 months of ownership I finally had a 600+ mile tank. It was a lot of work staying off the freeway. When I filled the car up I was able to put 12.2 gallons in so I could have gone a bit further.

  12. Interesting. I ran into this issue just last week. The nozzle had the gap. Of course, who looks that close at the nozzle. When it came time to remove the nozzle it would not come out. It was catching. I was getting pretty rough with it until I figured out what was going on. I was able to just reach in with an index finger and push the flap away from the nozzle and it came out. Kind of scary when it happens.
  13. This probably doesn't help but mine does have the resonator and the build date is 5/16/2013. I was all set to order the part and then I thought I better go out an look. I was disappointed to see it already had it as I feel like the ICE is loud for such a nice car. Tom
  14. I understand the space issue. Our kids are grown and I can see when the wife and I travel with two sets of golf clubs and the other related items, there is not much room for kids and thier stuff. Our second car is the Ford Edge (Wife's car). It is our second one, had a 2007, now we have a 2012. We love the edge and I think it is one of the best Crossovers out there. I was able to get pretty good MPGs with the edge last summer on a trip around New Mexico. One tank was 30.6 MPGs. Good luck on your decision.
  15. My story is somewhat similar, altough I did not have any issues with my 2009 Jetta TDI. Drove it four years and just shy of 50K. Averaged around 40-41 for the vehicle. Paid around 22k for the Jetta and got 13.5K trade in after 4 years, not bad. I was getting worried with all the High Pressure Fuel Pump failures. It appears to be a 8K expense, while VW was covering the issue for now, I just did not want that headache. I like the FFH and enjoy driving in EV so much that an electic vehicle is actually appealing to me. maybe one day. The FFH is so far a great car even though I only average around 40mpg. Tom
  16. Yep. I watched him do it. He created the account and put in the VIN. We will have to log back and and see if anything has changed. Then I think there may be a chat option somewhere. Thanks for letting me know that, at least in your case, it appears a second owner shuld have some complementary sync services. Tom
  17. Really not an FFH question. We recently helped our son get a used Ford Focus SE hatchback. This 2012 had only 9K miles. When he "Synced His Ride" it does not appear that he is given the remainder of the three year Sync Services. The web site is giving an option to enable a year for $60. Does anyone know this to be the case? I guess I could always send an email to Ford and see what they say. Tom
  18. I guess my "Carry" bag is too thick. I too put the first bag in as you described but there is no room to put the second back over the first. I take out the Driver, 3W, 5W, and two Hybrid clubs from my wife's bag and lay them over the top of the first bag. Then her bag will fit in the lower area with the iron heads under my bag. The golf shoes in the shoe box hold up my bag so hers will fit underneath. I feel like there is room hidden behind the side walls of the trunk that we are not able to use. Probably the hinge mechanism is hogging a lot of space. I have seen better trunk hinges in my day....VW comes to mind on both my old 2003 and 2009 Jettas. Hey we make it work but I could get three bags in my 2009 Jetta, don't see that happening here. We take the Wife's Edge for that. Tom

  22. Felt like I needed to report back after having some commuter runs after the PCM update. I had previously posted a link to a google spreadsheet where I was trying to gather data before and after the PCM update. Here it is again up to date. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvVlcS71qBqKdEREV040Qm5iTzN2aURuQzNrQXROenc&usp=sharing I have to agree with what corerwh has said. There are just too many variables in trying to compare the before and after. I have decided that for my commutes, the improvement is negligable. It did however let me see which routes to and from work appear to be the best at this time of year. Looking at it you might say that route 1 (highway with a mx speed of 60MPH) had a significant improvement (About 7%) but I feel like I did not get enough data point before the update to have a lot of confidence in the numbers. The Summary tab shows the results.
  23. I would love to just get two sets of golf clubs in the trunk without having to remove the longer clubs from one of the bags. To me the trunk is not golf club friendly. If the 12v battery was not there I could have a set go across the lower section, but as it is, they are too long with the woods in the bag.
  24. I read your post on the large library, while my library is only about 3600 songs, my ipod does not index everytime I start the car. Seems like I remember going into some set up menu and forcing an index one time because it was not letting me browse the library. I just leave the ipod in the car. I have not noticed any re-indexing going on. Sorry I am not much help. Tom
  25. Not sure what generation my iPOD classic is (80GB), but it worked great in my wife's edge and it works great in my 2013 Ford Fusion. I use the usb port so it charges and it is recognized by MFT and works as expected.
