did a trip from chicago to iowa all on highway and got 35.5 mpg got 38.5mpg on way back next day. temps were in teens on way there and around 30 on way home. all done at 65mph still averaging 35.5 mpg overall.

yes my short trips are one right after the other. i deliver Jimmy Johns so its constant running in grabbign an order and heading back out. my average is now just under 37 as it creeps up. going to be taking a trip to Iowa from Chicago on Friday so finally going to see how it does highway.

i never got my brochere.... i also just picked up my fusion last week and only had the 500 rebate available.

I have had mine a week now and am averaging 36mpg here in Chicago burbs. I drive the car for work (deliver jimmy johns) So I am making constant short trips during the day. Have not gone on highway yet. have only just under 200 miles on car so far. I do notice first trip to work in morning has horrid mileage usually around 18 but that is mostly all ICE as battery is charging and car is "warming up" earlier today I did have a 1.5 mile trip that going wound up 58.9 mpg and on way back hit 89.1mpg as EV+ came on as I neared work as the car thinks that is where I live lol. more and more I am seeing most my trips in the 40+ range and this is with temps in the 30's in morning and 40's during day. I also think my average would be a little higher if it wasn't for me taking the car into dealer friday to have rustproofing/scotchguarding ect done. I reset trip one after i got it back and have been getting 39ish overall since then. I don't think the dealer cared about my overall mileage and yes i did a full reset when i picked up car originally when it had 13 miles on it. only through less than half a tank so far.

build date to delivery timeframe?

was built 11/26 and picked it up 12/11 love the car and how it drives. still working on getting a good mpg average. i am starting to think that the 47mpg was with radio off, no heat, no headlights ect lol. right now average is at 35mpg btu i was getting 39 before i took it back to dealer friday to have the rustproofing/scotchguarding and stuff done. while they had it average dropped from 39 to 35 so they must of just had it idleing for a while or something. as i noticed the other night when i was at 39 and sat in parked car for like an hour setting the sirius stations and getting the damn garage door opener set that it dropped to 36 had to work all day thursday to get it back to 39 lol. do alot of short driving trips for work and get alot of trips in the 40's and even had one hit 89.1mpg for a 1.5 mile trip where i barely had gas kick in starting from a stoplight before getting it back into ev. haven't taken it on highway yet. -
build date to delivery timeframe?
bankyedwards replied to bankyedwards's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
got a call from dealer today saying ETA is the week of 12/11 which is like 2 weeks after build date. looks like maybe getting faster or could be due to large market of chicago being easier to mass ship to so just quicker -
build date to delivery timeframe?
bankyedwards replied to bankyedwards's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I was told mine was built on the 11/26 by dealer. Ford ETIS site says 11/29 but as of Saturday dealer said ETA is just December. No exact date yet. -
terry where on the window sticker did you see a build date? I only can make out the date the sticker was created and the date i am pulling up the pdf. according to my dealer my build date was supposed to be 11/26 but as of the 28th it was just listed as in factory with no eta yet.

mine is ordered in Blue. Dealer told me it had a build date of yesterday but a tracking site tells me friday. as long as it shows up before xmas i'll be happy.

build date to delivery timeframe?

looks to be around 3 weeks from build to delivery for the most recently built cars. guess I should be looking at a 12/17 delivery about. so about a month to go :) -
build date to delivery timeframe?
bankyedwards replied to bankyedwards's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
well the ones that are still not delivered were some of the first built that had that defect that is being slowly fixed and sent out that is the problem with that 20,000 or so cars and why the line in general was shut down in mid september for a bit. cars being built now are heading right out. and it shouldn't take more than a week to get it from chicago up to the land of cheese. you should ask them if they can drop it there and you come get it lol. Being I live in Chicago I also have that bonus that cars shipped via train to the midwest all come through here due to the large rail hub yards we have. so chicago dealers seem to get thier cars delivered fairly fast once shipped from what i have heard. -
For those of you that have gotten your fusions when was the build date and delivery date? just wondering how quick that have that turnabout at now that I have a build date of 11/26. hoping it'll be a nice xmas gift delivered lol

Just found out my build date is 11-26 :)

once you get your VIN # you can also register on ford owner http://support.ford.com/#reload and you can see all kinds of info for your car including the manual which is long and mostly pointless. and akat711 whoever told you a special order would be in 2-3 weeks was lieing thier ass off for a sale. currently the fusions including hybrids are expected 10-12 weeks from order as are several ford models. very few are faster than that. and 8-10 is currently the fastest. http://www.donlen.com/production-cars-ford.aspx

Downpayment Increase while FFH Delayed
bankyedwards replied to coach81's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
that is where I am torn. I had bought my first new car back in 2001 before that was all used cars paid in cash. I paid off my 2001 early and no car note since but seemed like everytime a warrenty ran out on something I would be paying repairs. So part of me really likes the idea of staying under warrenties and when they run out i get a brand new car with new warrenties. And sorry to go political but with 4 more years now of Obama's energy policies 39 months from now it might be nice to grab a brand new top MPG plug in hybrid by then. -
well i don't have my window sticker yet just the VIN. but all the stickers I have looked at in the Chicago area and the couple I test drove in each trim none had a block heater listed. only no charge we had was front license plate as illinois law requires both front and rear plates.
-
well if we assume they build them in order of Vin # i would be 2328 ahead of you. Guess tomorrow I'll call my dealer see if they have a built date listed? All they gave me Thursday night was the Vin they said then they didn't know build date yet.
-
that is because you are in Wisconsin simply dropping down to Illinois here in Chicago we don't get engine block heaters.

Intelligent Key= Push button start?
bankyedwards replied to coach81's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
no push button is only on the titanium. you probably got a sales person that we know more about the fusion than they do. I found that alot in chicago as i went to 6 dealers before i decided on who to order from (looking for best trade in and customer service) -
Downpayment Increase while FFH Delayed
bankyedwards replied to coach81's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
i was hoping just to save enough to keep a reasonable lease payment but past my goal and now thinking about having the dealership rerun the numbers on what a 60 or 72 month purchase would be vs the 36/39 month lease. although still like the idea of in 3 years turning keys over and getting a new one. -
hadn't heard about the DL but when i ordered mine they did ask for my license soi guess they could have sent a copy

my vin is 3FA6P0LU9DR189201 just the sales person i had a the dealership had sold 3 hybrids for order and all 3 vin numbers came in together.
