From the story - "We've received hundreds of calls from the few newspaper stories that have been around," said Rich McCune, partner at McCuneWright. "There's a lot of really unhappy people."

What about all the people who are happy and achieving the mileage? This is my first hybrid and I achieved 45+ the day after I picked it up on a 300+ mile trip. I suggest there are a lot of people that will try and dig some money out of Ford.

I only get decent milage on long runs... When this car is cold and in the city the milage is really terrible, much worse than Prius or Camry Hybrid...

In PA you getting 45+ in 30f weather...you must be talking about a different car.

Thats impossible based on quote "2mpg drop for every 10degrees below 70" But if your happy and you get the mileage im happy for you. But most of us dont even come close and even in warmer climate areas. Maybe we got a bad batch, who knows. But either way Ford isnt doing anything about it which is the problem.

Well this is only the beginning as I was suppose to be the lead plaintiff in the Virginia Lawsuit but since I traded the car in I will have just be joining the virginia class action suit. This will most likely just get combined with the other two in CA and im sure many more to follow.

I agree. People are just greedy and entitled. This lawsuit will bring out a lot of otherwise happy FFH owners who end up feeling discontent because of the complaints of others

And owners legit issues get screwed either way.   After my not so pleasant conversation with Ford, who basically told me to screw off, I filed today for IL owners.   I have been asked by that lawfirm if I wished to be a part of it, as long as I keep the car, and since I had a case pending, I wanted to see where it would go with Ford. Well got my answer this morning, we wasted enough time looking at your car, you were shown it can get 40 MPG, if you dont want to drive it that way, well then dont, have a nice day, we dont care that you can get EPA in all the other Hybrids, or can get 40 in the Cmax or another fusion without the extreme techniques.  Now go away and leave us alone.

Really nice way to treat a customer who has been buying their cars for the past 30 years. This is my last Ford.

Well every news/magazine outlet cant reach that mpg, thats probably why theres no articles or reports of "Happy MPG". You could start your own blog. Also when your paying $5500 premium to get 47mpgs most people will be very upset if they dont come close to it. But some how some one in PA 35f weather,  first time hybrid driver, no break-in period, no hypermiling and gets 45+ while some one in CA 70f weather, previous hybrid driver, broken-in car, with hypermiling/coasting cant. Very interesting I would love to see a video on youtube.

Seriously I would love to see a video of anyone driving this car and getting 45+. It would be great knowledge for the people who arent getting it and may help them get better mpgs. Of course you cant be doing circles at 25mpg in all ev mode. Im talking just a serious example of good mpg driving city and highway.

Challenge is out .....

Wow, this was like lighting a match in a fireworks factory :banghead:

I'm as anxious to find out the true story behind why some people get great mileage and others get poor mileage.  Perhaps it had something to do with the latest QA efforts?  Individual driving habits aside, it should be reasonable to expect people to be getting approximate average mileage numbers within the same ball park.

Try this on for size. Fueleconomy.gov.  Out of 45 vehicles posted, the overall average is 39 MPG. 8 below EPA.   2012 Camry LE Hybrid, out of 13 cars, overall average is 40.4 rated 41.  2011 Fusion Hybrid, 11 car sample, 38 overall, rated 39.

If so many people are happy, why are there 45 vehicles listed for the 13 Fusion, but so few for the other ones I listed? Could it be because the other ones are doing exactly as claimed?   You guys can defend Ford all you want, Ford gamed the test so they can market the car, and so far the majority of owners listed are 43 and under,  Only 3 are hitting near EPA, 8 are above, and they are mostly city drivers in warmer climes. that is not a very good percentage.  27 out of 45 owners are below 40 MPG. That is well over 50%.

There are two types of owners who really use this site, those who brag, and those who are not getting what they think they should be getting. Out of those who are not, at least half have a legit beef.

Lets go one step further, Cmax, 74 vehicles listed, 38.5 MPG average,   Prius V 19 vehicles listed, 42.5 average, EPA 42.       Ford will have a tough time defending this, the YMMV can only go so far, and I do believe Ford screwed themselves when they asked the EPA to revise their testing, which tells me Ford Gamed the system on this.

I posted a video, I have 2 more I haven't posted yet, but it shows how you have to drive MY car in order to get 40. I will make a video to show how to get 40 in my 2010, and you will see that no extreme techniques are needed to do so.

I know exactly what acdii is talking about, you excelerate then get into ev mode then drain the battery while slowly losing speed then excelerate and ev then drain again. Like driving 55 then drain to 30 then speed back up to 55 then drain again. Its ridiculous if thats what i have to do to get 40mpgs
