Texasota Report post Posted May 15, 2015 If after you run the report and your account reflects 4.4, it installed correctly. It sounds like the update took since you stated you had to re-pair your phone. Rebecca Thanks for all of your help. After running the VHR my account now states that I am at the latest sync version (4.4). 1 FordIVTteam reacted to this

Texasota Report post Posted May 15, 2015 You're welcome! Enjoy the new software and have a great weekend. :) Rebecca Just one more comment here. This forum and the Ford support reps lurking here are invaluable. I would have given up on this update given that I could not find any documentation on the Ford Owners website or my owner's manual that describe how to do a sync update for non-MFT vehicles. It seems like the Ford Owners website (where it documents the Sync update procedure) should address vehicles with and without MFT. Can you carry forward that request/suggestion to the website support/development people?

I sure would like the bluetooth stream metadata to work. Currently v3.

GrySql Report post Posted May 16, 2015 The mysteries of software development...Ford seems to a few of them.Did the Ford Owners website help you come to that conclusion? :) But, on the bright side, two months ago I updated my non-Nav 2011 Flex to Sync v4.4. The Ford Owners instructions were not even close to correct but I got it done using the FFH Forum 'never say die' method. ... and my 2013 FFH Sync is stuck at 3.6.2, super. :drop: 3 Texasota, corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted May 16, 2015 Did the Ford Owners website help you come to that conclusion? :) I didn't even think about that but yes that would be another example (not that Ford necessarily programs the website). Besides the BT song information not being displayed another really odd one is that you can't change the source while it's searching for a disconnected USB device like my phone from the last drive. I think there may more truth in that statement that we know. Makes one wonder who does program the Ford Owners website these days. :future:Why does it always load from the bottom first?? Not sure which is worse though, instructions from the Ford Owners website that are not correct or no instructions at all (for non-MFT FFHs).

FordIVTteam Report post Posted June 8, 2015 Hi expresspotato, The 4.4 update is only for non-MyFord Touch vehicles, so you won't see this update on your Owner account. Version 3.7.11 is the latest software for your vehicle. Let me know if you have any questions. Rebecca

But I wonder... since the screen placement and size for the new QNX-based Sync (which is much faster and supports pinches and swipes like a smartphone) is identical to that of MFT, it could be possible to rip out the entire assembly including the screen from my car and replace it with the QNX system. That would assume that the computer hardware for the QNX system plugs into the car systems (backup camera, stereo system, parking sensors, etc) in the same fashion as the MFT computer hardware. If the connectors for those car systems change with the QNX system, then it won't work. Let's wait for someone to total a new Ford with QNX next year, and see :) Hell, if dealers offered to do the full hardware swap for, say, $2000 max, I might actually pay for that!
