The cabin air flter really works!

I've never had a car with a cabin air filter until my FFH. I hadn't thought much about it, barely even knowing it was there. But I realized recently, after owning the car for four moths and driving 6,000 miles, that I never have to wipe dust/dirt, etc off the dash. It just stays clean. Amazing!

Indeed. My wife says the same. It does make a difference.

 

I changed ours after about 2 years, and it was noticeably dirty.

"Old on left, new on right".... hopefully there weren't those who had trouble distinguishing, but then again we get told on every airline flight how to buckle and unbuckle our seat belts, so ya never know.

That does include an almost-1200-mile trip two weeks ago, But my normal yearly mileage is bout 18,000 miles.

The amount of dirt that filter traps almost makes you want to wear a facemask all day...

 

With a new filter, your car probably has the cleanest air in town.

I should probably get mine replaced in both cars, with over 42K on one and 31K on the other, pretty sure they are both filthy.

Here is the cabin air filter from the 2010 FFH, slightly different from the 2013-2015 as you just fold the glove box door down, don't have to unbolt and remove the thing. This is after 2 years and 50k miles - not as grubbed up as I thought it would be but good to change it out.

I just replaced my cabin air filter after 1 1/2 years. It didn't trap anything big but it was quite dark in color as compared to a new one. There's a screen on the air intake, below the windshield, that seems to trap a lot of the larger debris which I think is a good idea.

Takes about 10 minutes

The odd thing is that the engine air filter looks cleaner than the old cabin air filter.

Had mine changed 2 months ago. I was very surprised how dirty it was. Money well spent.

That's because the engine's rarely on ;)
