TonyHzNV Report post Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) Yesterday I was driving home from work and I was listening to 100.5, one of the presets on FM1. Suddenly there was no sound and I figured the station had a momentary loss of signal, so I tried switching to another station to check. There was no response to my input on the touchscreen so I tried switching to SiriusXM...nothing. Tried switching to CD and again, no response. I tried switching to FM2, no response. I reached into my center console and got my USB reboot stick and plugged it in. MFT did it's thing and at the next red light, I shut off the car and opened the door so it would reboot and everything came back to normal. Has anyone else seen this? That's like the 3rd time I've had to reboot MFT in the 7-1/2 Mos. I've had the car each time for a different reason. Glad I made that USB stick! Hybrider Report post Posted February 20, 2015 I've had my MFT sound lock up similarly, but it usually comes back alive for me after about 5-30 seconds.
TonyHzNV Report post Posted February 20, 2015 This was more than losing the sound though. The buttons on the screen were dead no matter what I touched.
Griswald Report post Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Yep, happens to me also. I have narrowed it down to an OBD 2 bluetooth adapter, bluetooth itself or high voltage. I replaced the OBD adapter with an Ultra Gauge. I hope that eliminates one variable. Im seeing voltages over 15 alot. The service manual says 15.5 is the limit, but there could be spikes that my voltage checker just cant pick up. Hasnt done it in a month or so. Also, mine just reboots on its own. acdii Report post Posted February 21, 2015 Counting myself lucky, the only time sound stops is when listening to Pandora over USB to my iphone, and its the damned Iphone that does it. I have a speaker dock charging station that it does the same thing to so I know it isn't MFT. Have you guys had the FCIM update done yet? If not, you may want to have it done, it could be the module acting up. (I think its FCIM, others can correct me if wrong).
TonyHzNV Report post Posted February 21, 2015 I don't know what the FCIM UPDATE is, but nothing shows up as outstanding on my OASIS report.
acdii Report post Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) It wont. Its under a TSB. Its an update for the buttons on the center stack. You can easily tell if its had it done by setting your HVAC to auto, going to my view and put up the energy use on the right side, the one with two horizontal bar graphs. The top on will show AC compressor use. turning off the AC while in auto, if you still see energy used on the top one, your's hasn't been updated. It covered a wide variety of issues beside the AC not really being turned off. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6852-tsb-14-0096-reprogram-the-front-controls-interface-module/ Edited February 21, 2015 by acdii 1 corncobs reacted to this
TonyHzNV Report post Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) OK thanks for the info. I'll check into it. Edit: After reading the updated TSB here: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6852-tsb-14-0096-reprogram-the-front-controls-interface-module/?p=87217 it doesn't appear it applies to my vehicle. Mine was built on 11/25/13, doesn't have remote start and DOES have dual zone automatic temperature control. Hybrider Report post Posted February 22, 2015 This was more than losing the sound though. The buttons on the screen were dead no matter what I touched. I typically only use the steering wheel buttons to control the entertainment. But when my sound, typically XM, locks up, I can't change stations at all using the steering wheel buttons. So for me, when the XM locks up occasionally, it seems that at a minimum the whole entertainment section portion is locked up. I haven't really tried controlling anything else during those lockup periods to see if other portions are locked up too.
acdii Report post Posted February 22, 2015 Thats a module control issue. Probably needs an update, or replacement.
