TonyHzNV Report post Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) No elevation in mine either. That Fusion in the commercial must not have had nav installed. Probably not. Maybe they were getting voice directions through Sync Services and MFT hijacked them! Edited January 23, 2015 by TonyHzNV 1 GrySql reacted to this
ptek Report post Posted January 24, 2015 My 2014 with nav and Sync 3.6.2 displayed latitude and longitude in degrees/minutes/seconds format. Today, I updated to Sync 3.7 and afterward noticed that latitude and longitude are now displayed in xx.yyyy format. Neither sync version displays elevation. 1 GrySql reacted to this

FordIVTteam Report post Posted January 25, 2015 Hey Kim, it seems to be related to whether or not the car is equipped with Navigation, not which version of Sync we have. Maybe you can confirm that and why the difference in displays. Thanks! I should have mentioned that our in-house systems are equipped with navigation. I was unable to confirm on a non-navigation system, but I'm still happy to verify if your vehicle is displaying the correct information or not. Just send over your information in a PM if that's the case. :) Kim
airbusguy Report post Posted January 26, 2015 The only way I can get altitude info is via bezel diagnostics - the old eject and next preset simultaneously. Even though I have metric units set the readout is in feet, and lat and long is in decimal degrees as opposed to the DMS on the "where am I screen" on MFT. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Do you have navigation?Yep, Didn't care for the non Nav MFT, looked like it was missing something, and I use it quite often when i have to go somewhere for work. Just pop the address into my phone, send it to the car and let it do it's thing.
TonyHzNV Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Could you please explain a little more in-depth exactly what is is you're doing? What are you "popping it into" and what are you sending it to? "the car" is a little broad. Thanks!

acdii Report post Posted January 26, 2015 My Lincoln Mobile App or Sync Destinations, either one sends the route to the car, works with Turn by Turn or the NAV depending on what you have. 1 TonyHzNV reacted to this

nv rick Report post Posted January 27, 2015 My Lincoln Mobile App or Sync Destinations, either one sends the route to the car, works with Turn by Turn or the NAV depending on what you have. I installed the (Android) My Lincoln Mobile app and don't have an option to download routes. All it really offers is the ability to locate the car. Do I have to pair it with the car or something? Do I have to pair it with the car or something?Hey, Rick. I was looking into app stuff today and in the process I found out that you have to have an active Sync Services account to send those routes to the car. You can also do it with Google Maps by installing another free app (for both iOS and Android called "Send to Car". It works with Ford Sync, but like I said, you have to have an active Sync Services Account. I don't pay for that so I don't. As far as the My Lincoln Mobile, I'll leave that to acdii.

acdii Report post Posted January 27, 2015 OK some smartarse changed My Lincoln Mobile, it no longer has that feature on mine either. Guess its just the destinations one then. Well that makes room for something else on my phone. Lets see, whats that game with the chick in a low cut dress waving her sword while riding a horse? Could put that on instead. FordIVTteam Report post Posted January 27, 2015 Hey folks! I just wanted to stop by with some more clarification on this topic. After speaking with our engineering team, I can confirm that the elevation information is being intentionally removed due to accuracy concerns. If your vehicle has MyFord Touch with navigation, you should no longer see the altitude section once updating to software version 3.5.1. If your MyFord Touch system does not have navigation, this feature will disappear once version 3.7 is installed.I hope this helps clear things up! TonyHzNV Report post Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Sync Services is free for 3 years when you buy the car. Thanks for "jogging my brain", HB! I don't remember even talking about sync services when they delivered the car, so I spaced that. Funny though, I have a 13 F150 that I bought in March of 13 and it tells me that I don't have an active account if I say "Services" to Sync. Can you use the same phone number for two different vehicles that have Sync? Update: I do have Sync Services now. I called the Sync people to find out what was going on and apparently one Sync account was created when I bought the F150 and a second one was created when I bought the Fusion. The original one from the F150 had the active Sync account, so I just have to use that one (where my phone was tied to the account) and the Fusion is in there too now, so they should both work with services. So, I guess I CAN play with that app now! Thanks for reminding me about the free stuff HB! After speaking with our engineering team, I can confirm that the elevation information is being intentionally removed due to accuracy concerns. ... I hope this helps clear things up! KimThanks Kim it does clear things up but it raises the question WHY? Honestly why would someone complain or being concerned about the elevation display in your car being off by a few feet? 1 GrySql reacted to this
