hybridbear Report post Posted January 4, 2016 I suppose I was over thinking it... I imagined a drunk rear passenger pulling on the inner door handle while the car is moving, causing an adjacent car to smash it off.And how often do you have drunk passengers? ;) :kookie: :runaway: Solution: don't let drunk ppl ride in your car... I don't know about safety, but I've also had plenty of confused passengers. They've been conditioned that if the door doesn't open when the handle is pulled, it must mean the child locks are engaged, since so many other cars are like that. Having to pull the handle twice always feels odd.People do get confused, but I've discovered that almost all new cars now behave this way. Not many continue to have conventional lock switches/buttons on the doors that can be physically released. So, over time the general population should be accustomed to the new style. Texasota Report post Posted January 27, 2016 anyone know if the lincoln model has a compatible center console improvement for the 'change tray' which is always falling into the main bin?Do you have the slots and ridges lined up properly on the tray? The only time mine becomes dislodged is when I open the console up and rummage around in the main bin. 1 machoman1337 reacted to this

machoman1337 Report post Posted February 10, 2016 Sync with Ford MyTouch. The first iPhone came out almost a decade ago and was more responsive than this touch screen. Even the previous Fusion had a much more responsive screen. To this day I have no idea how Ford thought it could get away with releasing MFT in its current state, which hurt its rankings a lot. Worse still their luxury Lincolns have the exact same system with the same level of performance! At least Sync3 is a huge improvement though it really sucks that Ford won't officially let owners of old cars swap out their hardware.
jeffo65 Report post Posted February 10, 2016 Sync with Ford MyTouch. The first iPhone came out almost a decade ago and was more responsive than this touch screen. The only thing I wish you could do with the MFT sysytem is add apps (AppLink). Otherwise, we have no issues. Can easily play all music apps through bluetooth, phone connects flawlessly to MFT, can also play turn by turn voice directions through HU while listening to Pandora. Does most of what I would like.
Larry Twitchell Report post Posted October 26, 2016 Power seats in my 2015 SE will not adjust unless the vehicle is stopped, even the passenger seat! Among the reasons for buying this car was the 6-way power passenger seat as my wife has physical problems which are helped by re-adjusting her seat frequently. By stretching my imagination I can understand why the driver's seat might not adjust while underway, but by no stretch can I understand applying the rule to the passenger. I hope Ford will reconsider and fix this excessive control.

I do know, however, that the memory settings are disabled while moving, and that seems to make sense. In the event of an accidental button press, I wouldn't want it to squish me closer to the wheel and pedals, since my wife is a good bit smaller than me. Larry Twitchell Report post Posted November 1, 2016 Rode in the passenger seat today and the seat functions in all directions now. Maybe our touch was too gentle? sschnath Report post Posted November 1, 2016 4 things:1. Vibration/buzz under the passenger side A pillar. Still can't track it down.2. Mute the microphone for phone calls. It should have been mapped to one of the buttons on the steering wheel. Should not require multiple button pushes at the radio itself. 3. Low passenger side seat on the SE. My wife is on the short side and hates it.4. No way to bring the sun visors all the way back to the door pillar. Really? Ford couldn't have spent an extra $.05 on each visor to make the rod telescoping? I curse them every morning on my way to work. I really do like the car. It's these little things that will drive you crazy though.

Sky14FFH Report post Posted December 23, 2016 Conversely I would HATE to have a pushbutton start. That is one of my biggest dreads. I like to be able to control my car. If you push the button it might think about turning off, but only if it wants to. If you're having an emergency on the road, like a stuck throttle cable (it happens), you better hope you can force the engine off. Also, see the new thread about how the push buttons are more under threat of theft. 1. "Secondly is the climate control system. I've the automatic system...but it's anything but." Agreed. I can't stand it. When I turn something on. I want it on NOW not 10 seconds from now. I never use the "automatic" system as it probably uses more gas. In all my other cars in life they had manual H/AC and you didn't have to take your eyes off the road and study it in order to turn it on. Bring back knobs and selector dials please. 2. "it's like a complete change - air off and heater on" I don't get that problem. My A/C is ice cold. However, it takes a LONG time for my heat to get warm so I may need to take it in for an update if there is one because Ford obsesses waaay too much on cooling and not heating. This car doesn't need a front grill and probably needs very little radiator. My other 4 cylinder Ford that isn't a hybrid never has a heating problem even when it is 105 and that engine runs all the time. Small 4 cylinder engines don't need much cooling. The bigger a mass is the more it stays hot. 3. "Third little thing is the left foot rest." YES! There is no where to put your left foot! Who rests all the time with their legs outstretched, especially on long drives? I kinda wedge my foot up on the door jam but that leaves me with an aching ankle. So I alternate but it is still uncomfortable.4. The seats are also WAY too hard. I have been noticing that in newer cars. I swear my tailbone hurts after long drives. Reminds me of Spirit Airines. But yep I love the car too, the power and the amazing fuel economt but the ergonomics stink. What happened to ergonomics anyway? sschnath5. I am getting the vibration behind the passenger side pillar as well. I suspect it is the seatbelt retractor.6. My irritant is the trunk doesn't swing up very high and I've bumped my head a few times. My trunk lid is hard to close but that probably just needs an adjustment. It also squeeks. Both irritating. Why don't they make these cars hatchbacks like the mondeos in the UK? They'd have the same shape but just have so much more utility, you could get so much more in the car and probably be able to use it for light camping as people are doing these days especially with hybrids. 7. I hate the Ford touch, Sync etc all that crap. I have my own navigation with lifetime updates, NA, SA, Europe and N. Africa. A car is supposed to drive, be reliable and in the case of the hybrid efficient and have sound build quality. It's not supposed to answer your phone, make toast and coffee for you. We wouldn't need satelite radio if the damn local radio stations would just get with the program and play new and good stuff. Lots of material out there. They don't have to keep regurgitating the same hard rock from the 70s/80s over and over and over again. That's my rant. That said the steering and suspension is quite European, firm but comfortable and you can feel the road.8. Cupholders are an irritant. Sorry people shouldn't be eating in their cars unless necessary.9. "My FFH irritant is the center console." Yeah the center dash doesn't need to slope so far back like that and on tight turns I am always losing things out of the tray because of the wide gaps.10. "The only frustration I am having is adjusting to the forced use of a key fob." Yeah it could be much narrower. Too much clutter in my pockets as is. Before the key and remote unlocker were separate. I suppose that's an improvement having them together.Ok my main gripes.1. Blindspots. WIsh I had gotten the blind spot monitoring system because every time I change a lane I have to check and double check then squeeze my cheeks and hope nothing is there. The blindspots are terrible on this car and the convex corner mirrors are far too small to be useful and are totally useless at night. The pillars are ALL in the wrong place and all HUGE. The A pillars block things coming from left or right in front of you and you can't see the curb (or parking space lines) when turning. The B pillars block your view of the side where you have to lean forward to see and the C pillars are also huge. With the tall rear end and B and C pillars there is so much obstruction to your side view when you whip your head over your shoulder. I was in a near miss yesterday when some lady was yacking on her phone and not paying attention and crossed 2 lanes over and nearly into me. It is getting scary out there with every year that passes the more irresponsible the drivers get. In all my other cars I have had nearly full 240 degree view except my first Explorer which took some getting used to but after years I am still not used to the blindspots on the fusion.2. Heating system too cold.3. Lack of a hatchback model 4. Climate control. Having to take my eye off the road to study the climate control in order to get it right. The climate control has a mind of its own. After turning it on I have to quickly adjust it to two fan bars or it will slowly but surely turn on full blast after it has thought about it for 10 seconds. With knobs and large projecting buttons you don't have to worry about any of that.5. Hard seats. but I mentioned these last ones.6. Sync. People should not be using their phones in their cars. They are as dangerous to the rest of us as drunks are. http://www.businessinsider.com/talking-on-a-hands-free-cellphone-is-as-bad-as-driving-drunk-2013-8https://www.yahoo.com/news/22-old-whose-life-forever-171518472.html?ref=gs7. As mentioned by wiscy67 a highly irritating feature is not being able to set the dash view (Empower, MyView etc,) options exactly the way I want to see them. The growth leaves are useless and there is already a compass on the radio. I want to see a tachometer, temperature gauge, the current battery usage and accelerator Empower module that we can see already (which are great! and I use most of the time which is why I average 49mpg), the remaining miles to the tank, and the trip information. I am constantly having to switch between Empower, My View, the Trips 1 and 2 and when on a low tank the remaining miles to see what is happening. This is another dangerous feature (besides the climate control) and I hope Ford provides a software update so we can customize exactly what we want to see.8. The front air dams in front of the wheels scrape bottom all the time. Those griping about the Windows phones. At least they are the least hackable/snoopable. http://pocketnow.com/2015/11/09/hacker-windows-phone-android-mobile-security "keep pushing the technology envelope - such as able to configure Internet access through smartphone"absolutely not. The roads are dangerous as it is. We don't need more driving distracted. Bring a laptop and wait until you're in a parking lot with wifi.

disston Report post Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) I only have 600 miles on my 2018 Hybrid and do n;o know enough about it yet to make many complaints. i'm sure I will have more later burt this one will stay with me unless there is a solution. When I park at night and turn the ignition off and the headlights off the interior lights go to bright. Maybe OK for people exiting their car but for me I want the dash to stay dim, the way I had it set with the headlights on. I can keep the dash dim if I leave the parkinging lights on but I want to turn them off and not be blasted with a bunch of LED photons. Just because I've turned the engine and the headlights off does not mean I'm getting out of the car/ Edited December 17, 2017 by disston
Cobra348 Report post Posted December 18, 2017 Try looking in your vehicle settings in the left dash cluster screen. There are a lot of "defaults" in there and perhaps something in the Lighting group will work for you. I personbally have the headlights on 30-second delay, the interior lights (I think) can be controlled (on/off) via a switch on the upper console. I think it's the center one ... not sure. Ennyhoo I have the headlight delay and no interior lights at all. Center stack don't think there is anything that can prevent the blue-screen daytime display from occurring if that's an issue for you.
LEM Report post Posted December 26, 2017 The car is great in all sense to me, but if I have to complain about something is when I am not carryingmy phone and it gets automatically switched to radio scaring the hell out of me.Why does it have to change to radio? Why not USB? Why not other? Why can't it just stay where it waseven if my phone is not there in silence?
rhandrew Report post Posted January 31, 2018 Ha! I started this topic over 3 years ago. I'm pleased to see it's been so popular. Lots of the same little things seem to bother a lot of us. I've since upgraded from a 2013 to a 2016 hybrid, Titanium. 34K with lifetime 43.5mpg. The climate system still leaves a lot to be desired. In addition, at certain cool temp outside and humid conditions, the whole car fogs up so fast when you turn it on. I need to put on a/c, max defrost, etc and sit there for a minute before I can see. Left footrest still drives me crazy. The way the road dust gathers around the trunk is remarkable. Other than that, no rattles. Seats comfortable. Generally feel it's a really good car.Bob
