turning off rear dome light

We need to turn off the rear dome light in our 2010 Fusion Hybrid. Unlike the front dome light there is no on/off switch.

Is there a way to do this so that we can leave the back door open for several hours at a time and not drain the battery?

 

(Short of pulling the bulb -- which at least one mechanic has said may not in fact prevent battery drain as a result of something called the Body Control Module (or something like that).

The lights should turn off by themselves after a timeout. I don't remember how long the timeout is.
