mwr Report post Posted November 8, 2014 My 2015 FFH SE has the MyFord Touch Tech package which the order guide says includes Sync Services (one year free service), Also, all FFHs come with Sync with MyFord (per the 2015 order guide). - How do Sync and MyFord Touch relate to each other? The owners manual for Sync and for MyFord Touch say pretty much the same thing. - What does Sync Services provide that Sync without the services does not? murphy Report post Posted November 8, 2014 Sync services uses your cell phone to connect with a server that can provide weather reports, sports scores, horoscopes, news reports, stock reports, and connection to a live operator for locating businesses, plus it can provide turn by turn directions to locations that have previously been configured on the sync website. Go to your Sync account and click on "Personalize Sync Services" to configure them. This works whether or not the car has navigation installed. I'm surprised that it is only one year free because my 2010 and my 2013 both got 3 years free.

For example, there's a button in MyFord Touch to Install Apps... but there aren't any. 2 GrySql and corncobs reacted to this

Hi mwr, Check out this link to see the differences between each system: http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/?vehicle=fusion&year=2015 murphy did a great job of explaining SYNC Services already, but I'll include this link for fun: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-services-overview-sync-myford-touch This subscription service normally costs $60/year for Ford vehicles, so I encourage you to test it out while it is free. Keep in mind that SYNC Services will only work on the phone that is set as ACTIVE on your SYNC account at: www.Support.Ford.com Do you already have an account set up? Hello md13ffhguy, Although the newer software updates are designed to begin installing automatically after plugging them into the USB port, the INSTALL APPLICATIONS button can also be used to start the installation. Some other examples of applications that the vehicle may be equipped with are VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT and 911 ASSIST. Kim

How about you give us some details about what you thing is wrong with those statements ?? If there are, in fact, other "newer applications" available, it would be nice to know how to find them I guess.
FordIVTteam Report post Posted November 12, 2014 Thanks, Kim. I set up my account just now. Awesome! Let me know if I can help with anything else. :) With all due respect, you have got to be kidding. It sounds like you were hoping for a different answer. Currently, the available apps for MyFord Touch are limited. If you have suggestions for future apps that you'd like to see, be sure to post your ideas here so others can vote on them: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/ ...If there are, in fact, other "newer applications" available, it would be nice to know how to find them I guess. Hi Easy Rider, There aren't any other applications available for MyFord Touch at this time. If new apps becoming available, I'll be sure to let this forum know. It is also a good idea to periodically check your account at: www.Support.Ford.com for these types of notifications. Kim
Easy Rider Report post Posted November 12, 2014 It is also a good idea to periodically check your account at: www.Support.Ford.com for these types of notifications. Yes I know but I have kind of a hard time with those suggestions. If I "periodically checked" for updates on all of the "smart" devices that I now own, it would take up an unacceptable portion of my day.The makers of all those devices, including Ford, have my email address. They have no trouble with sending me "marketing" messages; I think they should be responsible enough to notify me of updates and recommended changes too. md13ffhguy Report post Posted November 13, 2014 And that comment strikes me as nasty and pointless. How about you give us some details about what you thing is wrong with those statements ?? Well, I did preface my comment, "With all due respect..." So, just to be clear, I do not intend to be disrespectful, or nasty, to Kim - she is simply relaying the company line. So, what do I think is wrong with the response? First, the idea that the INSTALL APPS button is used for updates? There haven't been any updates since I received my car (a 2013), and presumably, if there is ever going to be one, installation will be via the USB port. Second, using the VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT and 911 ASSIST as examples of applications seems somewhat irrelevant, since to the best of my knowledge, these are pre-installed features. I can't find any information indicating that either of these could be installed separately using the INSTALL APPS button. So, it seems to me that what's really pointless is the INSTALL APPS button in Sync with MyFord Touch. It sounds like you were hoping for a different answer. Currently, the available apps for MyFord Touch are limited. If you have suggestions for future apps that you'd like to see, be sure to post your ideas here so others can vote on them: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/When I get some time, I'll do that. To start the conversation here, I'd suggest ALL of the apps that are available to owners with Sync WITHOUT the PREMIUM MyFord Touch interface, via the AppLink Catalog: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-applink-catalog-sync Pandora, Rhapsody, Slacker Radio, IHeartAuto, SiriusXM, Aha Radio, Ford Sync Destinations, Glympse, MLB.COM At Bat, etc........ 3 hybridbear, corncobs and DeeCee reacted to this
Easy Rider Report post Posted November 13, 2014 Well, I did preface my comment, "With all due respect...".So, it seems to me that what's really pointless is the INSTALL APPS button in Sync with MyFord Touch. And in my opinion, you then proceeded to show no respect at all......like most people do when they make that comment. She DID say that installing some applications would require pushing the button since they would not "auto-start" when the stick is plugged in.Anyway, she is telling us all that she CAN, for whatever reason, and I think your response was just downright disrespectful.
