Ford ESP - ExtraCare vs PremiumCare

Recommended Posts

Somebody needs to explain to HB that they can put new tires on a car. You don't have to replace the entire car when the tires wear out.

LOL I USED to be that guy! I am so thrilled with my HyTi that I haven't even thought about replacing it. Now if I can keep from wrecking it like I did the Flex, I can wear out another set of tires! :)

I bought the ESP when I got the car, my dealer matched FF pricing +$50. I felt it was worth it since either way I would have had to finance the cost, and the % on the car is very low compared to my CC. I had also planned to drive this one into the dirt when I got it so getting 125K 4 year coverage made sense. I will easily hit 125K in that time. Going for a goal of 350K miles on this car before it will need to be replaced. I haven't done that since the 1979 Ford LTD Wagon. Most I have been able to get out of one is 161K before rust took over.

Mine goes in after work tomorrow for its last warranty run. Not much on the list other than what is on Etis, the Ambient light bug, and the cross traffic faults. Doubt they will find anything on the latter since it happens so random. All the rest of the issues I had disappeared when I replaced the tires. Amazing how much trouble they caused, Vibrations, noise, rumbling, tracking.

Mine is a Job2 build, first run of the Hybrid Titanium's, so you would expect there to be some issues, but surprisingly enough, there were very few, mostly cosmetic. Mechanically, a wiper motor has to be replaced due to a bad seal, squeaked like crazy. Rear bumper had to be repainted, installed too tight and chipped the paint. and the only other thing were the plastic parts on the drivers door popping out, the part between the two windows.

I would consider this car very reliable, and give it 4 1/2 out of 5, the cosmetic and wiper are worth 1/2 star if it didn't have them. So for the first 35000 miles, not a single drive-ability problem at all. I haven't had the MKT nor the 13 Flex long enough to give an opinion, but this is the first car I have driven 35K miles without one single issue that required a visit. All 3 previous Fusions, and the 10 Flex required visits to repair something, like wheel bearings, CEL, etc.

I am hoping I never have to use the ESP, but if I need it, its there for 125k miles.
