murphy Report post Posted October 13, 2014 I'm still using Internet Explorer in Windows7. Adblock Plus works fine...You missed the point, advertising is what pays for the forum. It's just that annoying pop-up that made it unusable. I have no problem with the advertising section at the top of the page. It doesn't get in my way. If everyone installed an adblocker there would be no money to pay for the forum. 2 Sleddog and corncobs reacted to this
Easy Rider Report post Posted October 13, 2014 If everyone installed an adblocker there would be no money to pay for the forum. Maybe it is you who missed the point. If every online site used some moderation and common sense in the frequency and placement of their ads, then there would be no NEED for a product like AdBlocker in the first place. I started using it when one site started putting ads IN THE MIDDLE OF POSTS. Talk about obnoxious and confusing !!! To be completely fair, I think it is the Ad purveyors who are doing the damage but the site owners seen to have given them free run of what comes in and how it is presented so the owners have to share some of the blame. robertlane Report post Posted October 14, 2014 We could easily install an anti-ad blocker to block the ad blocker, however, that won't happen. Ads are an important piece to keep the site open, but these popup ads are toooooo much to bare! 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this
lolder Report post Posted October 14, 2014 I am successfully using AdBlocker to block these pop-ups. When they are removed, I will disable it for this site to allow the other display ads.
robertlane Report post Posted October 14, 2014 I am successfully using AdBlocker to block these pop-ups. When they are removed, I will disable it for this site to allow the other display ads. Based on those pop up ads, I cannot blame you! I found the root cause of the ads and deleted it - they are gone! Thanks to everyone who commented on this 6 TX NRG, jeffo65, GrySql and 3 others reacted to this

lolder Report post Posted October 15, 2014 Under your browsers "tools" you'll see an Adblock plus listing and there will be selections for how you want to turn it off.
Sleddog Report post Posted October 15, 2014 For my iPad, adblock installs a browser, not just an add-on. But that's easily un-installed.

corncobs Report post Posted May 9, 2015 The mobile version of the forum site now has a really annoying advertisement window on top of the page. It takes up half the screen of an iPhone 6. I mean I do understand that the site has to be founded but that's a little intrusive.
Cobra348 Report post Posted May 9, 2015 In the ad box you have the option to opt out of the ads. I also use Adblock Plus. I don't get any popup ads. You can go to your addons in your broser and get rid of them there.Yup ... this is what I've done. Works really well!
