Fastronaut Report post Posted January 4, 2015 This is really ridiculous for a routine recall update to the PCM. QA fell far short on this one. My wife, a day after, also had the rear view camera stay on after moving from Reverse to Drive. 1 jeff_h reacted to this
hermans Report post Posted January 4, 2015 I think, starting with the 2013, the technology package in these cars were not ready for prime time. I think Ford skipped a beat with this one. 1 GrySql reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) There have been some weird issues with updates. I don't have access to OASIS here on my cell, but there are procedures for the dealers to not break things during these updates. It sounds like your dealer may have done something incorrectly when the reprogramming the PCM.Regarding the complicated PCM procedure, see this. I also added it to the locked Recall Topic. My Dealer did it right and I had no lingering after effects. FordService Report post Posted January 5, 2015 Had 14E02 done a few days ago on our 2013 HyTi and had to bring the car back to Ford today. DRIVER ASSIST no longer available. Also, the backup camera stopped working and it required a SYNCH Factory Reset to correct. Doing so also made a number of other settings need to be corrected. For some reason, front and rear parking assists defaulted to OFF. The DRIVER ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE problem is stumping the dealer, who told me that it had been seen once on a Lincoln. They need to get with Ford and have the car for a day next week to correct it. Yeah I thought it was supposed to be a simple update, but mine also had issues with reporting a "system unavailable" for various components when running a VHR, made me wonder if they didn't clear out all codes properly - after 4-5 tries I finally got a VHR that was as expected, will have to try another one to see if it's still good. I also had trouble after the update. My auto bright lights quit working and my rear interior light would not go off. Took it back to the dealer and they ran the update again. everything works....well sort of....the one touch windows still won't work and when you hold the window button in the up position the window automatically goes down again. Hey guys, I'll be happy to loop your customer service managers in on this. Just send me a PM with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location. Since you all seem to be having different symptoms please include them in the message. :) Meagan 1 Fastronaut reacted to this

It is not worth the repeated trips to the dealer and my having to leave the car there for the day, which causes me much inconvience. It's really not worth the trouble. Barsoom Report post Posted January 17, 2015 I had this done today. So far, I'm noticed nothing unusual. I did have the trunk open on its own after using the numerical pad to lock and unlock the car, but it's done that before. I'm convinced that there is still a latent bug in there somewhere that causes the trunk to open, but I cannot get it to repeat on demand.

I don't recall the number but isn't it 9 after the key code? 1 GrySql reacted to this
murphy Report post Posted January 17, 2015 The 5-6 button opens the trunk. If the last digit of your 5 digit code is 5 or 6 and you hit the button twice the trunk will open. If that is the case create a personal code that does not have 5 or 6 as the last digit. 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
Barsoom Report post Posted January 17, 2015 I do, actually. The thing is, the trunk didn't open until I was already in the car and started the engine. That's why I think somebody didn't reinitialize a variable or clear a register, and the last value was accidentally resent later as part of a completely different action. I actually understand what you are suggesting. :) 2 GrySql and hybridbear reacted to this
