Splash Guards R Kool!

Recommended Posts

My Milan has been pimped with a set of Ford Genuine Accessories Splash Guards!

What I like:

- Embossed "MILAN" logo on both rear pieces ("Eeez nah-ess!")

- Help to keep lower sides of car clear of road debris and spin-off

- Look pretty sharp :shades:

What I do not like:

- The instructions were 60% irrelevant and referenced parts that either were not provided or did not exist on the car in any form. Thank you again, FoMoCo for once again not trying hard enough to give a shit.

- Required drilling... at least no metal was drilled; Hondas have the holes in all their cars for these accessories. How difficult would it be for Ford to do the same (it's such a simple thing). Hell, Nissan's sedans come standard with splash guards.

- Overly expensive; Granted, I got the set for $67 through a wholesaler, but the shipping was $18 additional dollars. In the 21st century it costs $90 for a set of plastic splash guards. Welcome to the future. :do what:

- Rear wheels have to be removed for installation (again, due to drilling requirement). Went ahead and rotated the tires since I was half way there.

In summary, I'm so cool because I put out the big bucks to dress up my Alissa Milano. Really, I just got tired of all the dirt and crap that gets on the rocker panels.

Mud flaps are gay! LOL

Sorry, but I just had to do it.

I wouldn't suggest installing them on a lowered car... Ironically, you'd think two gay things applied to the same car would cancel themselves out.

Well, I do understand what causes people to install such items. I am normally a form follows function kind of guy myself. But, I just don't like mud flaps. If I lived in an area where there was a lot of mud and debris I would definately use them though.

Hi halsader. :D Just an FYI: If you take a look at the post dates, you will see that this thread is over a year old (April of 2007). I do not know why, but Meelan has not been around for some time, as his last sign in date seems to have been in October of 2007.

I figured I would give you a heads-up, as there is a good chance Meelan may not reply to your questions.

As far as Ford Accessories though, here is one place you can get some: LINK: Ford Accessories Hover your cursor over the blue "Genuine Ford Accessories" banner at the top left, then click on "Mercury Accessories". Then just fill in the drop down boxes.

Good luck. :beerchug:
