corncobs Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Nice, I plan to pick up my new 2014 Fusion H T this coming week after shoping and researching the car for two years and then waiting 7 weeks for special order Tianium. Wonder if it will have a new sticker or if I will get the $775.00... I agreed to the 47/47...Your are in a very interesting spot but I would talk to your dealer and contact the hotline with your situation. I think you should get the compensation because you "bought" the car as a special order. It shouldn't go against just that while you are waiting for your car and Ford drops the FE ratings. I'm sure hope that's something Ford thought about if not I hope they will make it right. 1 DetroitSunset reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Oops. Sorry. The link for the lincolnmakers hybrid gift things. :)Keep rubbing it in.... ;) Just make sure you aren't announcing your good will payment party in public you might end up with a bunch of FFH's in your street. :) :)
DetroitSunset Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Thanks Corncob,Interesting is an understatement. If the sticker is different than 47/47 then it is not the car I put $500.00 down on. Logical... In theory I should be able to walk from the deal and get my deposit back. As you referenced / 3 parties here me the dealer and the corporation. Will update on how things unfold. 1 corncobs reacted to this
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Being you ordered your car ahead of time have them call Ford. Doubt you will get the money but maybe you can get a prepaid maintance plan free.
DetroitSunset Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Eddie, Where is your optimism? Just kidding / just spoke with Ford and they will be sending the $775.00 after I take delivery. Whoo Hoo!!! Off to a Great Start. Kind of helps with the lack of tax encentives offered to previous hybrid buyers. 1 corncobs reacted to this
Texasota Report post Posted June 15, 2014 The DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) for the 2015 FFH I ordered is dated 06/04/2015. I'm wondering if my order will qualify for the $775.00.
DetroitSunset Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Not sure Tex the goodwill is only for 2013 / 2014 models. Depending on the MPG on the sticker you could dig further???
buskels Report post Posted June 15, 2014 This is the first Ford I have purchased and did it specifically because of mpg. I bought on 6/8 and announcement comes out 6/12. Will take the money but seriously feel duped.

So thus there isn't likely a payment coming your way. Sorry :(

So thus there isn't likely a payment coming your way. Sorry :(Oh well, that's okay. Fortunately, I have been following this forum for a long time so I had very realistic expectations for MPG results and I understood that when I decided to order my 2015 FFH. The new EPA numbers for the FFH are still excellent considering it is a comfortable and excellent performing midsized sedan. Buskels, please stay active on the forum here. I think you will learn a lot as I have. The forum members are nice to me even though I am constantly :stirpot: and yanking on their chains. 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this

Took some time to commit last five new purchases since 1999 have all been Hondas Still LOVE Em! My father in law loves his Fusion Hybrid about 4 or 5 years old now. Im driving between 650 and 900 miles a week for work and hope I will see a solid ROI via Fuel savings. Cant wait to pick mine up next week. Happy Fathers Day to those out there. DetroitSunset Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Thanks Ed, seems another pesimist. Actualy my driving is 60% highway and 40% town/ city. Would have never considered ecoboost, as turbo chargers run hot and kill engines prematurely. If you disagree speak with some Subaru Turbo owners. If I wanted a gas drive I would have stayed with Honda because They Run Long And Strong without playing with new / volvo influienced turbo technolgy that Ford has based the ecoboost option on. Eddie Sessum Report post Posted June 15, 2014 I know Ford had some turbo issues but I thought they got that fixed. I'd never buy a Honda tho after seeing so many of the newer ones die lately. The transmissions are garbage (autos). Older Hondas just kept going and going.
lolder Report post Posted June 15, 2014 I think the hybrid is still better on the highway because of the lower BSFC of the Atkinson ICE.
DetroitSunset Report post Posted June 15, 2014 Thanks Lolder, cant speak for Ed but assume with 34.5 MPGs, including the extra weight of the Lincoln and the fact that he probably drives with 2 feet kills his mileage. Your left foot should never touch either peadal. EGen wont kick in and charge the battery if your hard braking. And or even worse using the gas and break at the same time... Eddie Sessum Report post Posted June 15, 2014 I almost always get 85+ on the coach.. I'm on flat land so I don't get the event benefit of going down Hills.. Can gets a solid 37.5 on the highway Hut if I go a few hours out into the hills it gets 41 on the highway.. Both with eco cruise There also isn't much of a weight difference from a fully loaded HyTi as its the options that add weight believe it's like 110lb more. Which is why I still question how the fusion can get rated so much higher.
tbranca Report post Posted June 16, 2014 I have a few thoughts on this: 1. Most of us are, and have been, achieving or close to achieving 47mpg over the past 2 years. So why did Ford change their numbers now? 2. I'd never complain about the mpg I am achieving, but I'll sure accept $775, just in case the fuel economy drops! 3. It seems that many of the hybrid vehicles numbers are overstated - first it was Hyundai Sonata, then it was the C-Max, now the Fusion and Fusion Energi, and I just read that the same thing is coming for numbers to be adjusted down for the Honda Accord Hybrid. My biggest concern is that public perception may turn against Ford and the Fusion. Maybe its still cheaper to pay out than to fix all the broke one's but I will say this I bought my 2013 hybrid is nov 2012 and at first I was told that I had to put 10000 miles on the car and then the computer would start letting the car get better fuel miles and this came straight from a ford rep. so after 6 months I say its still getting 36 at best then I was told that I had to wait for 2 months ford has a software fix. So I waited some more after the software update saw a small increase. and then I was told I had to drive the car 3000 more miles for the car to learn and then I would see the 47 mpg well I'm at 22000 mile and still can not get even close to 47 even at 45 MPH following a mach truck. now they just say 36 is normal. I have lost faith
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted June 16, 2014 I believe this is the same as the people who get 30mpg at 70mpg in the diesels. Certain routes you can get crazy numbers. I read in a few forums that the 12ffh gets 57mpg going thru the smokey mountains from sign to sign with moderate ac usage. Goes to show what terrain and regen can do on a hybrid on the right road conditions. If anyone lives near the smokeys and wants to try this one day would be interesting to see in a non energi. MaineFusion Report post Posted June 16, 2014 In all honesty, I have NEVER had a car that matched the EPA ratings. I can go back over every car I've owned in the last 20 years, and they are always come up short on the EPA figures. My Honda accord was rated at something like 24 city/32 highway, I was lucky if I got 24 on the highway. I reset my Trip 2 at 20K miles, and in the last 4,500 miles, my average is 45.7mpg. I will continue to think that for most people who are not managing decent fuel economy numbers, it's all in how you drive the car. My original Trip 2 was at about 43mpg, due to some of the early tankfuls that I got poor fuel economy because I was driving it like it was an ICE vehicle. I believe the last 5K miles are more indicative of what my car does. I'm the exact opposite, I've always been able to get more than EPA ratings reliably with cars I've owned. With the FFH, I can only meet and/or exceed the original EPA highway rating by taking extraordinary measures (e.g. never driving faster than 63mph, keeping AC turned off, etc.). With lower speed driving (e.g. around town) I can reliably get 60 mpg in the summer but I watch my acceleration and stopping like a hawk and avoid breaking as much as possible by predicatively slowing down well in advance by just letting off the gas peddle. If I drove faster and/or wasn't extremely careful with the way I drive, I'd probably lose 5-10 mpg off of my average fuel economy. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
vangonebuy Report post Posted June 16, 2014 While the refund sounds good.It wont pay for the gas difference.47 = 42+ $775.00 I think this is some serious front running by Ford management to shut down a class action suit. This action may only get Ford into a stickier mess.Someone's bonus needs a trimming..Bad. 1 erichFla reacted to this
