jeff_h Report post Posted June 13, 2014 I just asked the same question on the other thread. Do we really think Ford is paying for cars that you don't own any longer? The below is one of the FAQs from http://www.ford.com/mpglabel/ : Will I get a goodwill payment if I already sold my car?Yes. We intend to provide goodwill payments to current and previous owners of the six affected vehicles. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Da0ne Report post Posted June 13, 2014 No action is required. You will receive a letter in the mail along with your payment no later than September 30, 2014. Thank you for your patience. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Sounds like we should get two checks then, so will acdii. And lucky Jeff gets three!! Now everyone can quit complaining about how the EPA tests aren't accurate. They are accurate. Ford just screwed up. I agree with some of the comments above that I hope someone is held accountable. I hope that B25Nut is wrong about questionable ethics being the cause of this. I hope it really was just an honest mistake. 1 corncobs reacted to this
TX NRG Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Only current owners, just called them because we bought a 2nd used one yesterday (mkzh). That person may have been wrong. hybridbear Report post Posted June 13, 2014 There are three threads going about this topic. This one in the "Fuel Mileage" section, this one in the "Fusion Talk" section & the one you're reading in the "Ford News Ticker" section. Which one should be kept? I'd like to close the other two so that we can have all the discussion about this news in one spot.

billford Report post Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Rather paying a lump sum, I think Ford should pay by the year. The amount payable should be calculated on the amount of fuel you buy and the difference between the original false fuel economy rating numbers and the new real numbers, to the owners, for as long as they own the car. It should include cars bought between Job 1 2013 and when Ford officially announces this program. After the official announcement, new customers will already know the new real numbers and make an informed decision before buying the car. I bought the FFH mainly on the published fuel economy numbers. Since the numbers were false, Ford should make up the difference for as long as I own the car. Just my opinion.... If you bought it used, you wont get this. Looks like those of us who bought new and sold will get compensated. While not totally making up for the crap they gave me( An apology from the CEO would do it), its very acceptable. Looks like there will be a few of us on this forum who will see two or more. 2 hybridbear and GrySql reacted to this

Since the numbers were false, Ford should make up the difference for as long as I own the car..That's kind of what Hyundai & Kia did. Owners report their mileage annually to the dealer and then get reimbursed based on how many miles they drove that year & what avg fuel prices were that year. I think that Ford is choosing to give away more money than they would if they did a Hyundai/Kia type program but this has much less administrative work than the Hyundai/Kia program. hybridbear Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Some of you who have been around on here since December 2012 or early 2013 might remember how early on in our ownership experience I was disappointed with MPG too. I had always beaten EPA estimates (for year-round MPG) in my previous cars and was surprised that I couldn't beat the EPA estimate in the FFH. Now I know that I can, even with the 18-inch wheels! And some of you may remember how acdii questioned the EPA estimates from the start, saying that he thought there was an error in the testing and that the real ratings should have been about 45 city, 41 highway. His guess was right on for the new, "correct" EPA MPG ratings for the FFH. His experience with hybrids allowed him to estimate the MPG better than Ford could! LOL! Congrats to acdii for being more in tune with the fuel economy and performance of the FFH than the Ford engineers who designed the car. 4 acdii, GrySql, B25Nut and 1 other reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Whats funny is that even if Ford didn't reduce the ratings, I still love this car and am amazed at how frugal it can be. I am just glad they finally admitted their ratings were wrong. Getting the same number across the board seemed like a pipe dream. 1 corncobs reacted to this

Eddie Sessum Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Would be a nightmare for Ford if they didn't give those who purchased them used based on the than current mpg ratings money. Look at the civic hybrid lawsuits and how they went. Money is to offset additional fuel costs anyways. So if you don't have it you aren't incurring additional costs...
