jeffbarko Report post Posted May 30, 2014 I'd like some assistance upgrading my stock 17" rims. If I'm missing information already provided please point me in the right direction.Achieving ideal fuel efficiency is most important to me, so my understanding is that 17" rims with michelin energy saver a/s tires is best to achieve that. But if I want to swap out the rims for a better look, would any 17" 5x114.3 option work? And is swapping out the TPMS units a difficult task? Any information regarding rims options/sizes and/or links to people who have already done this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Griswald Report post Posted May 30, 2014 I can't answer anything about sizes or TPMS, but what I can tell you is that lighter weight is better for economy. Lots of aftermarket wheels will weigh a whole lot more than the stockers, so be careful in your choices.
Waldo Report post Posted May 30, 2014 The 2013 Fusion doesn't use a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, it's 5x108. You can always start at Tirerack.com, they have a big selection and a viewing tool that can give you an idea of what they will look like.TPMS is easy, you just have to have the sensors moved onto the new wheels. Anyone who can mount tires can do it. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
