DirectorMan Report post Posted May 15, 2014 I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the worst weather we get is a rainstorm. Would WeatherBeaters be overkill for me? Should I opt for a carpeted mat?
inco Report post Posted May 15, 2014 In your case a carpeted mat that you can easily take out and let dry I think would be a better choice. Weather Beaters would let the water overflow to your carpets and increase the chance of mold forming methinks.
acdii Report post Posted May 15, 2014 They are great if you live in the snow belt or have a gravel drive, but if just occasional rain and hard top parking, the carpeted ones are perfect. They do hold quite a bit of water and do keep the carpet clean.
corncobs Report post Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) I'm glad I have them and it might just be for the fact that after a long road trip with a 2.5 year old the crumbs he produced are very easy to clean out. Ram Report post Posted May 16, 2014 I don't care what climate you live in you spill one large anything drink and it soaks straight through into the floor board then molds because you can't get 1/2 it out with a wet vac. You will kick your self in the tail for not getting a better floor mat.

Think how 'green' that would be!! :) Edited May 16, 2014 by GrySql 1 hybridbear reacted to this

srogers Report post Posted May 16, 2014 I've lived in the SF Bay Area my whole life and all I've ever needed is the standard carpet mats. I replaced the mats in one car that had light tan mats after about four years. If you go skiing in Tahoe a lot you may want to get something for your trips to the mountains. Besides, the stupid wimpy cup holders won't hold anything bigger than a stinking soda can! :)
tr7driver Report post Posted May 16, 2014 The Ford supplied carpeted mats are too small to protect anything. It makes me want to cry that my hankie is bigger than the driver's mat. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
