“Navigation Fault, please see touchscreen"

just under 500 miles on the car and I get my first error from the MFT system. The right hand driver display is telling me this on the way home:

 

 

The touch screen doesn’t have anything to tell me. The navigation tab is just empty and when i clicked on it I got a rotating, please wait icon thing which just spun there happily for the rest of the ride home without actually doing anything. Everything else seems to be working though.

 

I haven’t played with it, I’m going to reseat the card and such in a moment, but has anybody else seen this? A search didn’t turn up anything obvious.

Funny you should mention this. I've had my car for a year and never seen this message but it popped up yesterday. I just switched to the entertainment screen and back to navigation and it went away.

I switched among screens with no joy, but 2 cycles of the car off and back on again and it’s now working. Go figure :)

maybe... but I haven’t gotten it wet yet. Though I’m going to do that this weekend as it’s already looking a little dirty ;)

The nav card might not be fully seated, happened to me once in the BD, I just popped out the card and put it back in.

It came back to life before I messed with that, but I did take it out and re-seat it. So hopefully it’s just an easily twiddled mechanical connection there and not a defective card or something. But time will tell :)

I had the same problem in my 2016 Explorer. after a low battery situation.  The Nav SD card would not read and the MP3/USB port in the console did not supply power to a cell phone or read MP3 files.  I did a SYNC system reset (

press and hold the Seek Up (>>) button while pressing and holding the Radio Power button. Release both buttons after 2-3 seconds. Allow a few minutes for the reset to complete. After a few minutes has passed you can resume using the SYNC

system.)  It worked and both functions returned.  I hope this helps some folks.
