climate control

My 2013 ff does NOT have a climate option on the right instrument panel. Can it be added through a download or software change?

My SE has it. The hybrid has the "leaf" screen on the right, so it has 5 menus on the right screen instead of the standard 4. You have to scroll all the way down to bring up the climate menu.

They must have added it to the 14's, the 13's don't have it, only the Ti models do for that year.

I've tried to contact ford about this to no avail. I have Entertainment, Phone, and Leaves. My only gripe is that I can't control climate via steering wheel. I would imagine it's a software change but I can't get a solid answer.

Weird, I drove a very early 2013 SE and it had it.

I should also point out that I've never used it, much easier to just use the center stack or touchscreen.

I miss the bar chart that I could put on the right screen in my 2010. I wish they would add that with the next update.

I have it and never use it. Like acdii says, it just adjusts the temp and fan speed. You aren't missing out on anything.

Nope, mine does not have it either, it's a 11/21/12 build with MFT.

Hi tr7driver,

Here is a good place to share that suggestion: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/

Kim - the basic question is: what FFHs have the ability to control Climate on the right dash screen? So far we've determined that the 2013 FFH SE with MFT does not have this option but the 2013 HyTi does. The 2014 FFH SE with MFT does have this option according to Waldo and others. Waldo also says that he drove a 2013 FFH SE which did have this feature.

Thanks!

Hi hybridbear,

I've been able to get some clarification on this. I can confirm that the feature was intentionally removed in the 2014 models after considering customer feedback. On a 2014 Fusion with MyFord Touch, you should only see PHONE, ENTERTAINMENT, NAVIGATION/COMPASS, and EFFICIENCY LEAVES (if it's a hybrid) in that right cluster. This isn't something that can be added at the dealership if that's the case. This is based on the build date of your vehicle; however, I wasn't able to verify the specific date. Send me your VIN in a PM if you have a 2013 Fusion without this option; I'm happy to check. :)

Kim - your comments don't match what we've observed in real life. The 2013 FFHs do not have "Climate" unless the car is a Titanium trim, the 2014 FFHs do have "Climate" on both SE & Titanium trim levels.

My 2013 ffh Se doesn't even have Compass/Navigation in right instrument panel. Just to clarify, these menu options can NOT be added. Correct. (Right panel only has Phone, Entertainment, Efficient leaves.)

Hopefully you will still have the option after your next service visit. ;)

I'd like to know where Ford gets their 'customer feedback', it sure isn't from this Forum!

I can't believe how many varying answers there are on this thread! How could so many people have different configurations? Mine is a 2013 SE built in Jan or Feb 2013 and I have only Efficiency Leaves, Entertainment, Compass and Phone.

What always cracks me up,is when I try to adjust temp using MFT, and I ask for 72 degrees, and she asks "82 degrees?"; I say "no, SEVENTY TWO DEGREES"; and she asks "did you want 62 degrees?" WTF, I'll change it manually!

+1 on that...

My SE, built 11/21/12, with Nav & MFT does not have Climate on the Dash either and the Nav doesn't work from the Dash in any of them I'm told. A sort of mixed up arrangement I'd say.

:hysterical3: I'd swap the non-functioning Nav for Climate!

Nav works just fine in my cluster.

Waldo,

So if you select from your right instrument cluster display "Navigation" and then slect "POI Nearby" and then select "Fuel Station" it will give you a list of nearby fuel stations on the first try and you don't have to toggle back and forth to get something to show up if anything at all. I have not been able to find a FFH yet, owned or on a dealer lot, that works this way on the first attempt, usually have to toggle back and forth on the steering wheel buttons to get anything to show at all.

Yep, that's what mine won't do, or any other thing....

Just spins and then returns to the home screen.

Waldo, when I posted a similar Nav scenario In another thread acdii categorically stated that no Ford has the Dash Nav screen enabled, now we find that yours works.

Glad to hear at least one works.
