BamaFFH Report post Posted April 15, 2014 Hello, my first post and also my first hybrid vehicle. I recently picked up a 2014 Fusion Hybrid Titanium and like everything about the car except for the fit and finish of the hood and truck lid. The gaps are very uneven! The trunk is the worst, the vertical gap on the right side is about finger width and the left side is about 1/16". Anybody had any issues with this sort of thing? I haven't taken it to the dealer just yet but I will sometime soon. I am a little concerned that if you even up the gap in one area it will be off in another. I first thought maybe the car needs to go back to Mexico for a do over. Overall though, I am pleased with the car. I got out of a Silverado gas guzzler that got only 15 of it's supposed 21 MPG and the second trip in the FFH netted 45.5 MPG. You can't argue with that! The first thing I noticed was that the part of the tail-lights on the trunk were not aligned with the tail-lights on the outsides of the car. I'm still hopeful that they will align once the car gets a bit older.I remember seeing the non-Hybrid Fusion when it was new, and the rubber fittings on the window sills were of such poor quality, I thought I'd never buy the car. Thankfully, the FFH has decent window sill fittings. It's a small thing but also shows how much attention they pay to quality and detail. I have yet to do a write-up of likes and dislikes, hoping that Kim and/or Ashley can relay it back to Ford for future use. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
GrySql Report post Posted April 15, 2014 This has been a hit or miss issue since these cars began coming off the assembly line. Your warranty covers these problems but you must take the car back to the Dealer and have them repair whatever is troubling you.We've even had members tell us that their Dealer sent the car to an private body shop to fix issues. Riggo Report post Posted April 15, 2014 I've had the 2013 and 2014 Titanium and each of them had the problem of the brake lights not lining up perfectly. It's not a big issue for me, but I may ask the dealer the next time I'm in if it's a fix that won't require a lot of time in the shop. acdii Report post Posted April 15, 2014 Other than the plastic trim on the front doors being replaced and the paint chip on the bumper where it was over tightened, the rest of the car has been pretty good. Nice even gaps all around. I think the only thing I can complain about still is the trim at the top of the doors being a bit loose, but after 21K miles, they are no looser than when I first got the car. I am just careful I don't snag and yank on them. With how rough the roads were this winter and the beating the car took going over them 5 days a week, no new rattles or anything popping off.
