Ryan Garcia Report post Posted March 12, 2014 First post to the forum so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but this forum seemed to have the most discussion about DTCs. Let me know if I should post this somewhere else. Bought my 2013 Hybrid a few months ago, just crossing the 10K miles and the indicator came on to get my oil changed. Crazy schedule with spring break so instead of going to dealer I just went to a local Firestone. I had noticed that in addition to the oil change warning there was also a yellow engine warning. I guessed that was just another indication to get the oil changed. Got the oil changed but the engine light was still on. I thought it might go off after a few minutes--that happened when the tire pressure light came on during a cold snap and I put some air in, light went away a few minutes later. But this time the light stayed on even when I got home 15 minutes later. Google brought me to this forum and I saw how to look up the DTC. But when I got to the screen it did have three codes, all three are marked as HIST rather than current. The three codes are: C15900C46B86F00316 I've seen some of them referenced on the forum without saying what they are. My question to the smart crowd here--I have two longish trips coming up in the next few days (at least 5 hours driving Thursday, then 3 hours driving on Friday and Sunday). Ryan Goodlett Report post Posted March 13, 2014 All of the DTC codes I have ever seen are letter#### format. While I think that may be a code generated by your car, I don't think it is a OBDII code. I just looked through several diagnostic manuals for the 13 and 14 fusion and noting remotely pulls up with those codes for DTCs. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

tr7driver Report post Posted March 21, 2014 Part of the run cycle on many cars (not sure about the fusion) is that it requires a start from a cold engine, so you may have to wait quite a while before it will recognize another drive as a new cycle session. 13FFH Report post Posted March 25, 2014 I too experienced a yellow wrench and now have one of the codes mentioned above in my history (C46B86). I played around with grouping the digits into two's and threes', coverting to hex, trying to make it fit into the normal P#### format. Then one day I was looking at TSB 13-11-11 and it hit me that letters were allowed in the DTC code as well. So, I made the assumption that I what I was seeing was two codes, P0C46 and P0B86 and lo and behold, those are valid codes pointing to the hybrid battery. Made sense to me since this is a hybrid car, but for the validity of the codes to the actual shown in DTC history is still speculation. Service department extracted a bunch of "U" codes one of which was U046B:86-08, which looks like the C46B86 that was shown in the DTC ET window.
