Nick Golden Report post Posted March 12, 2014 I've had my new 2014 FFH for about 2 weeks. Bought the car right before the latest Midwest cold snap. For the first week my mileage was in the 38 to 40 mpg range. Since then, we've had warmer weather and I've read driving tips on this forum. This past week I've been showing between 45 to 56 mpg trip to trip (according to the computer report when you turn the ignition off). I generally drive about 18 miles to work, choosing the 45 mph route over the highway route (highway route is longer distance). I am very happy and encouraged that I made a good choice on the car. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Congrats and Welcome! What are the details on your FFH? Model, color, etc? It's great to hear your fuel economy is so good, especially considering how short a time you have had the car! Is this your first hybrid? It's funny that you said you choose the 45mph route over the highway. I have been doing that for awhile now, mostly because I think the car is more fun to drive on surface streets that on the highway.Feel free to post pictures when you have a chance. Nick Golden Report post Posted March 12, 2014 2014 Fusion Hybrid S in Sunset (orange red) First hybrid. Although I used to skip shift and surge drive my old focus to the upper 30s in mpg (hit 41 two times in a row with summer gas) The 45 mph way just seems to have hills in the right spot (uphill when battery is about dead). I have the screen set to "Engage" display so its nice to see how it's running. Overall mpg is at 42.9 mpg and rising every day. 4 corncobs, hybridbear, GrySql and 1 other reacted to this

Nick Golden Report post Posted March 12, 2014 Thank you, Ashley. The only thing I struggle with is the USB and bluetooth features of the MyFord Sync. I think I'm getting close to figuring it out. DJ - I uploaded some pics from the day I picked it up from the dealer. It was the only sunny day since I bought the car, really. The car looks like a boring red on cloudy days but is a neat orange red in the sunlight. We'll see how easy it keeps clean. It needs a wash and a coat of wax soon. Check out the threads about Zaino in the "Appearance" section of the forum. I didn't know about Zaino before this forum, now I'll never go back to using regular wax. Zaino is truly amazing! Speaking of Zaino, I need to order some more items from them. 2 acdii and corncobs reacted to this
