Hyabrid ST Update - 12,000 Miles of Smiles

I Did the ST Conversion within 100 miles on a fully loaded Titanium - Thought I would report that after 12,000 miles - the average mpg is 39 - I drive my way with my style - I don't commit my life to the dashboard, I just drive. The car has seen extreme summer and extreme winter. The 3D Carbon pre-painted kit is still 100% perfect - No paint fade, no peeling, and has survived 50+ touchless car washes, the Plastic Dip grill is perfect - the ST Emblems are in perfect condition both inside the car and outside - the Eco-Boost Exhaust is still perfect to complete the kit - the 19" Ford Mondeo wheels are still in show quality, the Brembo covers still look awesome - aluminum pedals still perfect with the heal plate - the factory door sill plates still glow blue - maybe its the High Flow Filter and the Eco Exhaust to keep me at 39 - If I really really suppress my style - I can score 47 - 51 as long as I have a City Mix in there -

 

I will admit that it is an attention getter, I have several people that have visited the Ford Dealerships looking for an ST - the pictures look the same and its been a great purchase - ZERO Mechanical issues, all updates - I changed the Intake tube 12,000 miles ago - I should have shared hat with the forum - the Only mistake was - I went with the MRT exhaust - Sounds horrible - like a High Schooler's Civic and a Couple of Coffee Cans - The intake tube resonator was an attempt to cure that MRT mess - For less money - I bought the OEM Eco exhaust - along with the rear Eco body kit... and really enjoy the dual look with the near 40mpg and side by side at the dealership, they sales guys think its a tricked out Eco - and the Inlet Tube takes away the growl as stated by many.

 

Not to bad after a sweet ST Conversion and am hybrid emblem free :) Forgot the ST look that Road and Track said Should be made? Check the pix

One thing to note, if you removed the hybrid badges, and have a wreck where you need to be extricated, is there something that says its a hybrid that can be seen by first responders in case you are incapacitated? As it sits now, if you have no hybrid badges, the only way someone would know is to either go in the trunk or under the hood, and if they cant get to the hood.....

 

Just sayin, after the wreck I had in my Flex, anything can happen, even to the best drivers.

With the exception of the Personalized plates that say HYABRID - I am sure that the A Pillars, B Pillars, Roof Structure, and Doors are shared components with the Non-Hybrid Version and hope not to be rear-ended of have to be pulled through the trunk on extrication - zzzzzzap! - I appreciate the thoughts and hope for the best - the thought was to pay kudos to the products added and the overall success story at 12,000 miles - Sometimes in the "automotive add on world" - a high % is just junk that's fades, peels, disfigures, or falls off -

True. Usually when they have to extricate, they cut the battery connections, so an observant FR should be able to see the battery pack in the trunk. One thing you could do it slap a hybrid note at the battery door so they can see it, that way you can still be incognito yet give FR a heads up in case it ever does happen. What they do then is go through the back seat and unplug the battery connection.

No, only the Hybrid and Energi do.
