Drop in MPG after Fuel Delivery Module replacement, recall notice

Recommended Posts

Had the Fuel delivery module replacement done in September 13, was getting about 46.3 mpg, I do a lot of city driving, and take advantage of EV, now after replacement of Fuel Module getting on average about 43 mpg and heading down, wonder if fix was done correctly,, have leak now or defective module as installed.......my driving habits have not changed and had the mpg PCM done earlier in year and saw significant increase in mpg...

The drop in MPG is likely due to the seasonal drop in temperatures since September that affects all hybrids. Higher MPG's will return when the warm weather does.

Consumer Reports said they saw no difference in mileage after software update. It's all temperature.

I've seen a significant drop in MPG and a major change in the way the car drives since the "recalibration" in September 2013. Prior to the "recal" I would have true hybrid performance with the EV and ICE running together. Now it's either running on the ICE or on EV. And the slightest acceleration or push on the accelerator and the engine kicks in, dropping the instantaneous MPG to 20. Most times the instantaneous MPG reading is 20 or all EV at 60. Has anyone tried to get their Fusion Hybrid reset BACK to the original factory setting of prior to the "recalibration?"

There have a few threads on this topic and what seemed to help for some members with a similar condition is a hard reset.

I'm not sure if that is the correct thread I'm thinking of.

Basically unplugging the 12V and HVB and therefore resetting all computer tables to default values and start from scratch.

For the next few hundred miles drive really carefully to retrain the car.

Goody,

I'm happy to lend a hand. PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info. I'll look into some options.

Ashley,

How do I post a PM (which I assume means a Private Message)?
