halfelite Report post Posted December 23, 2013 So as I was driving to work today a rock flew up and cracked the windshield beyond just getting it filled in. I went through the safelite website to get a quote and it listed two types of replacement for OEM They are Windshield solar, soundproofing green tintWindshield rain sensor, solar, soundproofing green tint I dont have auto wipers so I know I dont need the rain sensor one. But the mention of green tint seems off as I never noticed a green tint to the front windshield. Does this sound correct.
kuzzi Report post Posted December 23, 2013 I think it is the very nearly completely invisible UV blocking film that is applied. If those are the only two options then green it is. 2 jeff_h and hybridbear reacted to this
kuzzi Report post Posted December 24, 2013 For some reason or another I was able to get some windshield warranty. Might check your sales documents to see if you got something like that as well. All chips and even a conpletely blown windshield would be replaced free. Had two chips filled in already, thank you ever growing Harris county roadways. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted December 24, 2013 There is a very slight green tint. Put a piece of bright white paper against the glass from the inside and you will see the tint from the outside. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Did you ask your dealer about a ford windshield? I checked into it even tho I didnt need one and its only like $25 more to have the dealer do it with one that says ford on the glass.

I have not yet I will do that. as safelite was like 425$ shocked me my old subaru was only like 215$ The rock hit in the sunshade part behind the mirror so i was not to worried about it but its already spread outside that area so will be getting it fixed in the next week.
