Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 17, 2013 So I dropped off my car yesterday after they received a ton of parts in to replace on my car. All fit and finish this related along with my headliner and to work on some rattles and buzzes. Just hoping Ford doesn't have any parts shortages for the mkz. Looking like if I get it back by the weekend I'll be lucky and I'm just gonna be driving around in the impreza all week (best loaner I've ever got from a dealer). But on a plus side for the dealer they called me this morning and said they found some other defective trim pieces and would replace them too while they had it apart. After my experience with regular Ford dealerships they always seem to just patch it up and not care about the other broken things making me come back again and again. If only this kind of experience could carry over to all of you guys with the ford's.

Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 17, 2013 For what the car stickers for its really nice. You can tell they put the old WRX 2.0L in it tho. Pulls like a SOB to around 2800rpm than it just falls flat. I guess thats how they detuned it. You can even feel the CVT is the same as the one in the WRX but its tuned down bad. Kinda makes it feel like MFT 2 years ago with all the "tuning" issues. Like it has way more than its giving in return. AWD isnt really needed being a stomp to the floor takes 10 seconds to get to 5k rpm.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 19, 2013 Just got an update from my dealer and all of the one time use parts that they needed to do all the work they already have found are in. So now there just working on the car today and tomorow and hopefully saturday ill be able to pick it up around noon. Thats alot of labor hours lol
GrySql Report post Posted December 19, 2013 Sounds like you are getting good 'Lincoln' quality service. I hope it pleases you when you pick it up.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) No backordered parts from ford. Everything came right away. So thats a plus based on what ive seen with you guys lol And on another note the car itself has been solid in all way that make a car a car. Its just alot of little fit and finish trim type stuff. Thats pretty much what my car has been like, just a fit and finish issue. Up until recently though, that squeal that I thought was a bad wiper blade is actually the pivot for the drivers wiper arm. If I pick the blade up and turn them on I can hear it squeaking. It gets amplified through the wiper arm and to the glass. Looks like I will be stopping by the Dealer to have them look at it and order a new pivot if needed so they can repair it at my next oil change. (or might just shoot WD40 at the bushing and see if it goes away)

(or might just shoot WD40 at the bushing and see if it goes away)I did have a defective wiper blade. You could look at it next to the other one and see it was slightly different. They just pulled one off a new car tho and warrantied the new car one so I didn't have to make the 30mile drive in. I can tell u that the local Ford dealership wouldn't have even tried to help me with that. They might have actually broke the arm trying to bend it to make it work better. (when I called Ford to complain with my truck they said this is the order of dealerships to go to based on surveys. Needless to say the big one I always went too because it wasn't a 2-3 week wait, was last on the list) My main issue other than stains and one pieced that was chipped was buzzes in the doors. Some caused by certain music and since it got cold both passenger doors at a certain rpm when the engine is cold. If they can get those buzzes fixed up nice I think I'll be able to say it's one of the nicest cars I've had. And I've had a Sierra Denali, Mustang gt premium convertible, f250 king Ranch, Saturn sky recline. I've had some high end over the past 10years. The dealer pulled a new set out of parts and put them on. No issue since. Some dealers are just better than others.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 20, 2013 Yep, I just wish I didn't have to travel. But they give a real car in decent shape not a ran into the ground enterprise rental so I guess it's kinda worth it.. When I get the car back tho I may post The repair ticket here so u guys can see how much one time use parts are on this car lol
acdii Report post Posted December 20, 2013 The squeal I hear is coming from the drivers side shaft, not the blade itself. Either the bushing is doing it, or the bearing. the blades themselves still do a very good job clearing the glass.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 21, 2013 I got a call yesterday from the service manager. They got most of the work done now but won't be done till Monday evening because the guy who has been doing the work is off today and they don't want to let the lower level techs touch my car as they don't do fit and finish work. No complaints from me about that but I'm hoping everything goes well. They haven't even gotten into the doors yet to look for the buzzing sounds so I guess we will see what's up Monday. It's miserable having a car without a backup camera lol
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 23, 2013 Got a new update today. Some of the replacement parts didnt fit well so he is going thru a process to get those parts replaced again. Door panel wood trim is backordered but there saying friday for delivery on that. Might end up with the car back still needing more work and they will work on getting all of that together for when I go in for my oil change in feb. Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 30, 2013 Just finally got my call that all the parts came in and they believe everything is done. Want me to come in tomorow and inspect everything. For those wondering. The subaru is a great screw off car. Never had a car as stable, not even my MKZ can compete with it throwing it around on the road. MPG average is 21.. So ill be glad to let it go back. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
hermans Report post Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) I'm surprised they didn't give you a Lincoln to drive. I've taken mine in twice and was given an MKZ to drive each time. But then, I guess your happy they gave you a car at all. Edited December 31, 2013 by hermans
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 31, 2013 They had a town car. Nope, ill take the subaru lol. And yes, compared to all past experences I didnt get a loaner or I got a POS from enterprise. Im sure by the next time around they will have a MKS or a MKZ loaner. But I hope only time I go back from this point on is for regular service.
acdii Report post Posted December 31, 2013 That Town car would probably get 21 MPG too, at least ours did. I woudn't mind a town car, I like those big ol tanks.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 31, 2013 We had one.. It got 15 in the city when you drove it like a grandma lol

Eddie Sessum Report post Posted December 31, 2013 Picked up my car today. Ticket is staying open so I dont have one to show but ill give you guys an update. Smelly AC - FixedWavy door wood trim - FixedChipped rear outside trim (chipped inside) - FixedReprogram for auto down - FixedHeadliner stains - Orange gone, Black spot in front now (another defect)New Problem, rear trim doesnt fit properly - Could be bad ford parts, or headliner just isnt shaped right to fit properly.Horrible buzz in rear door. Was there before but now its worse Im sure there is other things i dont realize were done or I forgot but yea. The Lincoln service manager is out all week on vacation so when he gets back in I have to bring it by for him to inspect everything and get more parts in. As far as I can tell they did everything as best as they could with the shotty parts ford sent them. Guess I will be giving another update when the time comes. Glad to have my car back during this time though, That subaru was burning almost twice the gas. I got 31mpg hwy going back out to the dealership and i averaged 40.9 in the lincoln. SteveB_TX Report post Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Why you think yours needs a new one? I noticed the other day the black trim ring that covers the headliner material around moonroof is askew. The headliner itself has started squeaking. Something is not right here. :( Edited January 1, 2014 by SteveB_TX
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted January 1, 2014 Make sure they know a lot of the trim is one time use.. That way they have as many parts as they can.
