Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 22, 2013 Picked up my new mkZ Hybrid tonight from the dealer! Steve & Eddie thanks for the help lately with the questions I've been asking. Decided to go with the Panoramic Sunroof and happy I did. Tuxedo black w/ black interior. Will be getting it Opti-coated on Friday so I can put picture up with that and let everyone know if the $400.00 permanent wax is worth it or not. Love it so far! A lot to play with......

Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) I'll add them on Saturday I think. I'm going to take before and after pictures with the opti-coat. Although as of this minute the car has never been washed , not even by the dealer so the after is going to look 10x better either way Edited October 22, 2013 by Bob Teddy
djminfll Report post Posted October 22, 2013 I got my FFH in Tuxedo Black and had the dealer install the wax, and to be honest, I can't see the difference. I have seen other Tuxedo Black Fusions without the wax, and they look as good as mine does. However, I do have a guarantee against paint damage and if I replace this car with another Ford product, I get a $500 rebate on the new one. So is it worth it? I don't know, but it's already done, so it's all good.
Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 22, 2013 edited my post above, but i meant washed, not waxed :) damn ipad typing.

Even the Zaino doesn't look as HOT as it does on other cars, and that says a lot considering how glossy it can make a car look. What you will find though is how well the paint is protected without doing anything but regular washes, and that is where the value comes in. In a few years, compare your car to one that hasn't been protected, or cared for, and then you will see the difference.

Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 27, 2013 Opti Coat was expensive having it put on by someone, but at least I know it was done how it should be, and it looks excellent..... Now just to get the windows tinted.
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 27, 2013 Told ya the roof was worth it. I didn't think much of it neither until I got it.

hybridbear Report post Posted October 28, 2013 Awesome pics! I'm also curious to see the inside and see how it looks in comparison with the FFH. It's a nice looking car. :camera: Also, does the MKZ have turn signals in the mirrors like the FFH?
Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 28, 2013 Its side mirrors are identical, when I get a minute today I will go take pictures of the interior for you! :camera: So far, in the babying stage. 55/70 mph cruise control and hitting 38-40mpg 1 hybridbear reacted to this

Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Bob, I found that i wasnt getting that good of gas milage untill i did a full cycle on the battery. I got the battery almost to a full charge on its own than put it in park and held the gas down to charge, it took about 10 minutes but after I did that I gained about 4-5mpg. I suspect the computer hadnt seen a complete cycle yet and wasnt giving it quite as much as it could. So how do you like the black wheels vs the silver 18s? *edit* just saw your pics. It doesnt have the dark wheels. Did you get the top package? Edited October 28, 2013 by Eddie Sessum
Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Excellent picture quality huh?? It is actually the darker 19" Wheels. Love the car, just need to get the windows tinted now and it will be all complete. djminfll Report post Posted October 29, 2013 I like the interior a lot! Having the push-button transmission leaves the console open, and the HVAC and audio controls are smoother than the FFH. Very elegant interior. Congrats on the new car, great choice! 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 29, 2013 The volume slider for the radio blows. Thats all i can say about mine. I just use the right screen to do it all. Bob, dont have the auto park function?
acdii Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Looks strange with the missing shifter. I would be lost without it~ LOL
dkegel Report post Posted October 29, 2013 The volume slider for the radio blows. Thats all i can say about mine. I just use the right screen to do it all. You don't use the volume button on the steering wheel? Dave
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 29, 2013 I do use those.. Just saying it sucks
Bob Teddy Report post Posted October 30, 2013 I surprisingly like the volume slide bar, feel like it responds well.. If you want to do a sudden low volume it gets touchy but.... i like it. Auto-Park function is mandatory with technology package so it is on there. You do get use to the push button shifter and its getting to be a very routine process for me.
