Smart Car biggest all time loser

Recommended Posts

I keep thinking that if the driver slams on the brakes it would flip over. What a scary little car that is.

Well, that should help C-max, its one thing to not get full MPG, but to not be able to stop likes its advertised to, that is a big black eye! Wonder why Toyota has such poor marks when it comes to stopping. The Camry we had did not stop well, It would stop, but under regen braking, it would disengage, and the car would feel like it was surging forward, and we would wind up slamming on the brakes. Only would do that after so many miles of driving and only do it once, but still would be a potential crash waiting to happen.

If you check out the gov testing. Both cars threw the "drive belt" which runs the wheels or something and killed the engine. Cost to repair higher than replacement. Both at under 50k miles.

They made a Smart CDI years ago. They sell for almost as much as a brand new gas one because you can get upwards of 70mpg on the highway. Makes you wonder why they killed them off..

Good.

The Smart car was an automotive fashion fad in the late 2000s.

When I see one commuting around all I can do is LOL. I got similar mileage in my freaking Corolla and had easily double the space.

When I see one of those I half expect it to stop and a buttload of clowns start pouring out of it.
