Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 5, 2013 I have these 2 spots on my headliner. One in the front behind the visor hook on the passanger side and one around the same location at the complete back of the headliner. Anybody have any clue what could have caused this in manufacturing? It was on the car from day one and they did some cleaning on it and it went away for a bit but reappeared. The owner of the dealership is out of town right now and I gotta wait to hear back from him as far as lincoln doing anything about it. Maybe there is something out there to help clean these away other than dawn and water which is all ive heard from people?

Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 5, 2013 You can only see it at certain angles. Best idea I could say it kinda looks like what happens when you get rust on your hands and give a smear on something light colored. I dont have a good camera to try to get a good pic. corncobs Report post Posted October 6, 2013 Have you tried to clean them with some fabric cleaner? After our CA road trip I found some spots around the rear passenger seat apparently our son had splashed around with some drink. I got all of it out with some interior cleaner and dish soap (dawn). Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 6, 2013 Dish soap worked for the makeup on the visor.. This other stuff it fades away and comes back when it drys
GrySql Report post Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I have yet to find a spot on my house carpet, sofa/chair upholstery and car carpet mats that Folex won't take out, with no residue and and when dry looks like you were never there.YMMV, try on an out of the way test area if you decide to use this on a headliner, be careful. However, I think I'd hassle the Dealer to have it replaced or cleaned professionally if it is conspicuous. It is a warranty problem. Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 6, 2013 Waiting to hear from the dealership owner to see what he says.. He's out of town I guess at some kind of classic car race
hybridbear Report post Posted October 6, 2013 After our dealer had to remove and reinstall our headliner to fix the broken clip that was rattling we noticed a spot on the headliner. It's only visible at certain angles and looks like a water spot to me. I've been asking them for months to fix it but they conveniently "forget" everytime the car is there even though I remind them every time I drop the car off. At this point they'll be getting all 1s on their survey from Ford. The problem is they can't ever seem to finish a job since everytime I bring the car in they break something else and then can't get the parts in to fix it. 1 aaronj1159 reacted to this
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted October 8, 2013 Forgot to post yesterday but the owner of the lincoln dealership said he will take care of it and fight ford himself if need be to make it get fixed. Ive noticed 2 other spots of the same developing in other spots. My detailing guy says he thinks it may be some chemical that was on the installers hands and its just showing up with time. Whatever it is as long as my dealer can get it straight im fine with it. I caused a couple spots on my a-pillars that are slightly dirty but thats on me.. This headliner crap from day one ford needs to make right lol 1 GrySql reacted to this
