Receiving Text messages with iOS 7 via iPhone

Anyone get this to work in their car with sync/mft? I seem to have lost this capability after upgrading to ios 7 on the iPhone. iPhone Bluetooth setting has 'show notifications' switch to ON.

One more reason not to upgrade the iPhone to 7. Upgrading it to 6 slowed my 4 down, can imagine what 7 will do to it.

It actually works really well but I have not tested the text message since I updated to iOS 7.

There is one new feature that I really missed having > blocking phone numbers !!!

which model phone do you have? I have the first 4, not the S, good thing too, i would probably smash it if it talked back to me.

on iOS7 it will only do text to a apple certified device from what i heard. Another way apple hits you up for money by making your other products license the certification.

My iPhone 5 has never been able to read, receive, or send text messages. But I was under the impression that it because SYNC is a Microsoft product which does not work with Apple.

Syncs base system was made when windows phone was DEAD. They have no reason to make it non compatable. Its more apple not wanting it to work properly. I believe some other companys systems now run a form of IOS like the ipad dont they?

Update:

 

I tested text to speech on my way home and it's still working fine.

 

iPhone 4S + iOS 7 it was working with the previous iOS and no change in settings after the update.

I lost my ability to receive text also after upgrading to IOS 7, but I reset//repaired using the sequence below. It's now working. I copied this from another member for my personal use and I don't remember who. Give it a try. This was in regards to the MFT upgrade.

The main things I am stoaked about so far is the speed, better navigation destination screens, simplied voice commands for music, and the iPhone compatibility. I can confirm that recieving text messaging does finally work, however sending sadly is still not compatible it appears. The way I got this to work for all you iPhone users out there who have been as frusterated as me is the following steps. Unpair Sync and your iPhone. Turn Bluetooth off on your iPhone and turn off the phone. I also turned off the Fusion at this point and turned off and on MFT to be safe, but this might not have been required. Turn back on your iPhone and MFT and repair the devices. Once your iPhone is paired, go to your bluetooth settings on the phone and click the blue options arrow on the right side of the "Sync" item. You will see "Show Notifications", flip that to ON. Then turn off MFT and back on again (I believe you just probably need to disconnect and reconnect the phone). Now go to phone on MFT and click messaging, it should finally let you in to the screen. Recieving and reading text messages will work, which includes iMessages."

Same for me. But only after I deleted the phone and re-paired it. I had lost the ability to hear Siri via Sync after the IOS 7 update. So I deleted it from Sync and Sync from the phone. After pairing again, I had voice commands via Sync back, but lost the ability for Sync to receive text messages. But the speed of IOS 7 is impressive. I'm still working with it.

 

OK, done. Activated notifications and Sync will now notify when there is a new text and gives you the option to read it.

Guys & Gals - you need to turn on notifcations in the blutooth settings on your iPhone. The upgrade to 7.0 turns it off by default. I have it working on both my iOS 7 iPhone 5 (last week) and now on my iPhone 5s. If only I could respond to texts...

Good point I thought about the Bluetooth as well but I also thought that disabled Bluetooth we would very obvious since the phone would connect.

The workaround to this is to use SIri. Don't even have to look down, just hold the Home button and say "Send a Text Message to John Doe" and that works great.

That may be illegal in your state...
