Wingmn Report post Posted September 21, 2013 While we were mid way home during our 128 mile return trip from Mt. St. Helens, the my touch screen froze. After about 90 seconds it unlocked and brought up a failed NAV SD card message. We removed the card, reinstalled, ( during the failure my IPod would not index ). Anyway we reinserted the SD card, the screen froze again, but then it shut off, radio and all associated with the my touch. The screen came back on about 10 seconds after it turned off and had the large SYNC displayed with a " performing scheduled maintenance" and a status bar across the bottom of the screen. After that status bar completely filled in the whole sys came back up like nothing happened. Our destination was still in the system, and we got the "obey traffic" speech from our NAV like when you first complete a destination entry. Kinda weird during a 2 hour road trip... Anyone else have this happen?
aschulz261 Report post Posted September 21, 2013 I have had mine do that a couple of times. It sounds like it crashed and rebooted itself. 1 Wingmn reacted to this
Riggo Report post Posted September 21, 2013 Yep. That's the crash and reboot message to make it appear as it didn't really crash. 1 Wingmn reacted to this
SteveB_TX Report post Posted September 21, 2013 Happened to me once so far. The "Performing Scheduled Maintenance" message is to remind you that Sync is Powered by Microsoft. I guess it's better than getting the standard Microsoft BSOD. ;) 5 Wingmn, TX NRG, jeffo65 and 2 others reacted to this
Eddie Sessum Report post Posted September 21, 2013 Sounds like a megatouch when the hard drive is going out lol. The sd card is prob screwed and its just doing its form of a windows "chkdsk" trying to keep it going.
acdii Report post Posted September 23, 2013 Welcome to the wonderful world of microsoft. Thankfully only MFT/Sync is powered by it, had the whole car been, we would be screwed. Imagine your car rebooting at 70 MPH!
keithhk Report post Posted October 9, 2013 Hi, I also had this happen 1 time and did not know what to do as the screen turned black and did nothing for a long time and then it came up with the Sync message and returned to working normal again so was some kind of Glitch. Hope it does not happen to often.
