cincidaddi Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Although it's just a minor nuisance, I am wondering if there is a way to open the moon roof of my 2013 FFH 100% in a single step. If I hit the open button, the roof goes about 75% open on its own. I have to wait for it stop before hitting the open button again to get it fully open. Is there a setting or other means to get it fully open with one press?
kuzzi Report post Posted September 12, 2013 You can press the button on a sawzall once and open it up reeeeaaaaal wide. As far as electronic system buttons go, no clue, not an option I opted for.

cincidaddi Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Dkegel, that's what I figured but wishing there was an option. Hopefully Ford reads this and can add a double click or some method. The other thing I'd love to do is to open the sun roof instead of venting when I press and hold the door unlock for 3 sec for a global open. 1 hybridbear reacted to this

We often open the roof while all the window are up and in that situation you do not want it to open all the way due to the buffeting and funky noise you get. So in a sense, it already does open all the way with a double click, you just have to wait a few seconds between clicks. acdii Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Well I'll be, just learned something. I didnt know it would go all the way back, I thought it stopped there because thats all the room it had. Going to check this out when I get my car back!

Every car I've had with a moonroof, a Chrysler, three Saabs, a Honda and now the Ford, all have done this.
acdii Report post Posted September 12, 2013 The Flex doesnt, it fully opens on one touch.
dkegel Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Our 2010 FFH opened al the way too. A lot of cars do. This is the first I've seen where one doesn't, to be honest. Dave
SteveB_TX Report post Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) I like the partial opening operation. It definitely cuts down on the buffeting, which is MUCH WORSE in the MKZ due to the fastback design. Edited September 12, 2013 by SteveB_TX

YoDaddio Report post Posted September 12, 2013 It's done for a reason - from the manual (page) 76. "Opening and Closing the MoonroofTouch (A) to open the moonroof. It willstop short of the fully opened position.Note: This position helps to reduce windnoise or rumbling which may happen withthe moonroof fully open. Touch (A) againto fully open the moonroof." 1 tclemmer reacted to this
cincidaddi Report post Posted September 12, 2013 YoDaddio, I don't doubt that it was intended to open partially for a good reason. I'm just asking for a way to open fully more conveniently since that's what I want 99% of the time. There should be a clever way to do both. Maybe an extra button like there is for venting the moon roof.

You noticed once you hit 60mph with the glass roof it closes that extra 25% on its own? Id guess you have the full glass roof since I havent seen one without except in pictures. Eddie Sessum Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Yea, down here I didnt see any non panaramic ones when i got mine. Mine has that too. It pulls the big glass to around the point your fully open sunroof would do.
